Underwear models endorse a particular brand of underwear to fashion buyers and customers. Underwear models either model the underwear on the runway during a fashion show or through photographs intended for publication in magazines, catalogues, and posters.
The requirements of an underwear model are similar to any ramp model. Female models should be between eighteen and twenty-four years old. They should have an hourglass figure, as a lot of skin would be on display. The minimum height for runway models is roughly 5'8", and the average weight for a model is 108 to125 lbs. The requirements are stringent, as the underwear model has to look appealing while showcasing the product either on the runway or in front of the camera; and underwear looks particularly attractive hugging a lean, lissome figure. There are always exceptions to the rule, of course but, in general, the closer an underwear model is to the industry rule, the better her chances.
Male underwear models are generally 6' to 6' 2" tall. Unlike other commercial models who do not have any height, weight, or size restrictions, male underwear models have to be physically fit as their bodies are on full display while they are modeling skimpy underwear. This is the chief modeling category, as commercial models appear in advertisements, billboards, and magazines.
Promotional underwear modeling ranges from being hired to hand out samples of products to staffing trade show booths. This is a category that rarely involves being photographed and is more about an attractive person’s ability to interact with people and convince them to buy the product.
That said, not everyone has the aptitude to become an underwear model even if he or she has a perfect figure. It is more suitable for men and women who are comfortable with their bodies and have no qualms about modeling their bodies in front of large audiences.

With the greatest respect earned by Alison Cole, this article does absolutely nothing for me. Perhaps I am in just the wrong place staring at yet again, another worthless blog. Ms. Cole's write-up is about as generic as possible. She renders nothing new or out of the ordinary. On my very best day...maybe a Respond to this comment
