Clothing allergies are not uncommon especially from sensual under wear. Reactions are caused by direct contact with the skin. The allergic reactions can be an immediate eczema type rash or a delayed type known as hypersensitivity. The wearing of soft cotton is generally thought to be kinder to the skin as fibres in some manmade fabrics can course irritation. Although cotton itself is generally not a problem the azo dyes and formaldehyde resins which are used to improve the finish may affect sensitive skin. Silk is breathable and light and is known to regulate the bodies temperature very rarely causes any problems.

The polyester group of fabrics including Spandex, acrylic and nylon often used in stockings and suspenders, glamour lingerie and erotic underwear do produce a reaction if the wearer is sensitive to either the fabric or dyes used in finishing. Spandex, a stretchy polyurethane fibre used in women's bras, underwear, club wear and women's corsets contains mercaptobenzothiazole, known to be an allergen. Although Wool is a natural fibre many people can be allergic to it, especially if it is worn next to the skin, and even if there is no direct reaction it can be itchy and uncomfortable to wear, this may also be the case for the luxury end of the in the form of angora or cashmeres. It is not always the fabric its self that causes adverse skin reactions, very often it is the chemicals used to improve the appearance or performance of the garments. If your new sexy costume is crease or fire resistant what ever it's made of it will have a resin finish so beware.

It is also worth remembering if you hand wash your delicate naughty lingerie by hand rinse thoroughly as soap or detergent residues can be the route cause of any problems with the skin. Fit and friction may also contribute to skin irritations so especially when purchasingunderwearbuy the correct size, too large is as bad as too small because both can chaff and result in excessive perspiration exacerbating any lesser problems or allergy. If you have taken every precaution and practically if you are experiencing irritation around the abdomen look to your leather belts as products used in the tanning process leave residues that can and will coarse problems to those who are susceptible.
