Maxis is set for a June 2009 release in their popular game series. This one will be known as The Sims 3 and will be a cut above the others in the line. The reason for that is that this time, the players will be allowed to have more direct interaction with the NPCs around the neighborhood.
Generally, The Sims 3 game will be similar to others in the series. Before commencing play, you will first create a virtual family which will then be moved into a neighborhood. Your family can be of any race or creed or body style. Once in the neighborhood, you'll be prompted to buy a house. You'll begin the game with a set amount of currency, called simoleans.
To build more simoleans you'll have to get a job and/or befriend a Sim who is already rich. This is where The Sims 3s extremely interactive environment comes in. Instead of neighbors meeting you at your house you'll have the option to meet them at their house. Thats right you'll actually be able to step out into the neighborhood, walk to their homes and instantly be able to talk to them.
You'll also be able to meet your neighbors at other locales around the community. Previous game versions required you to use expansion packs for this, but The Sims 3 comes with beaches, parks and gyms. And your may need the gym if they eat too much, since they will gain weight. If you put them on a diet, then they will lose weight.
As far as children, they are made the same way. In The Sims 3 your characters will have to select the play option if they're in their beds, hot tubs or other items that allude to their unusual sexuality. In either case, after the play option is selected, the characters will be given an additional option to try for a baby. If they are successful, the female Sim will get pregnant and have the baby within a few days, (in Sim time of course). In conclusion, if you're looking for a Sim experience that totally redefines the games, you definitely should invest in The Sims 3. True, the basic gameplay is very similar to the Sims 2, but the social aspect of it is something that is out of this world, at least if you like the simulation genre.
