If you are a nail technician then you may be wondering whether a part time sales/demonstration job would be worth applying for. If so then you have come to the right place! Here you will find out everything you need to know about selling and demonstrating jobs within the nail industry.

What it involves

Obviously the goal of a sales/demonstration job within the nail industry requires you to sell different nail products. If you demonstrate products then the aim is to get people to purchase the products once they have seen how great the product works. For this you will need to be quite confident as demonstrations are usually conducted with several people watching. In fact, some demonstrations may be needed in local colleges where there could be a hundred or more watching. So it is definitely not a job for shy people!

The main thing that you do need is a confident and friendly personality. Sales is all about connecting with people and making them believe that the product you are selling is the best product in the world. It would help if you had qualifications in the nail industry or if you at least had a lot of knowledge about nail products. That way, you will be able to sell them a lot better as you will understand exactly what it is that you are offering your customers. Many companies actually only employ nail technicians as they are more qualified for the position.

Is it Suitable?

If you are a nail technician then a demonstration job may make a good additional income. However it is certainly not a career that you should consider full time. The pay is mainly based on commission and so it is not overly reliable. Many technicians find that it makes a good part time job as it fits well around clients. However you will have to work hard for your money!

Even part time jobs may only be on a casual basis. The work is varied though so you may find it quite interesting, even if you are only working every three months or so!

Overall becoming a sales/demonstration rep for nail product companies can be fun and quite varied. However it is not a good way to make a full time living and it is better suited to qualified nail technicians.
