If you want a good cry, tune your televisions to abc on Wednesday nights. TV game show Wipeout will have you laughing so hard, until you either cry or make your sides hurt.

A game show designed to challenge contestants on a variety of obstacles, in order to win $50,000.00, Wipeout is quickly becoming the funniest reality game show on television. But the fun doesn't start with just ordinary obstacles, and courses that contestants must face. The fun begins as we watch contestant after contestant fall to their faces, become human cannonballs, and all-out victims of extremely cold water all while trying to out-run a huge, mechanic rolling ball.

And that's not all, imagine trying to jump from a platform, onto a gigantic, moving circle; to top it off, your vision is being thrown off by the wild patterns designed on the circle, which is also moving just as quickly as the platform. Try after try, each contestant give the viewers even more to laugh about, as they slip, slide, pounce and bounce from object to obstacle, then to the water below. It's quite hilarious, and if you ever get a chance to watch it, please do so. Who was it that said laughter is good for the soul? Well, they must have known something about the game show Wipeout! (I know they didn't, really)

I'm not a big fan of reality television programs, or game shows. But, Wipeout is the one reality TV game show that I set my reminder for on Wednesdays. I'm sure that anyone looking for a good laugh, will find it if they tune in to abc on Wednesdays, at 8/7c (p.m.). You may have to check your local listings. But be prepared to laugh more than you have in a long time!

Ronyae, I will give it a try. I have been one of those that have been so disappointed in TV realities. I only watch sports, cops, animal kingdom, discovery, cartoons (Tom & Jerry), and CNN. I am almost giving up on CNN, they do not present the news anymore, they "Speculate" with their experts... Note their "Experts. I will give it a try to bring some laughter to myself. I have two boys 12 & 13 into Music and Tennis. They were laughing and said:  "Daddy you have to hear and see this with us tonight and it will crack you up?" (They know I have almost every collection from my era with, Hitsville, Motown, and Tamla). I did and it was, Amy Weinhaus (?) singing, I Heard It Through The Grapevine! and the Jonas Brothers singing, My Girl, and I do not know what Hanna Montana was singing.  I had not heard any thing that awful in a very, very long time. It was hilarious to me... I missed it because the audience where they were had tears in their eyes..........Loving it!  I had to get that off my chest. Thanks Ronyae...smile...

Dr.  I can see you having a 'side-splitting' time listening to youngsters' rendition of the classics!  I am like that at times; hardly anyone can touch the good oldies (smile).  Thanks for reading and letting some things off your chest (anytime).
Stay Blessed!

Great article. Well done.

I am familiar with this show - there is a British equivalent. I find I found it funny the first time but the second time it was not so funny as I knew what was coming.

Yes, Connor, I can relate to having the surprise swiped from beneath you!  I don't care much for programs who lose the excitement as well.  But with Wipeout, you will see, there is never a dull moment!

Great article, Ronyae. My family and I caught the first episode of Wipeout in the U.S. last summer and I doubt that we've missed any shows since! I admit that I enjoy the running commentary between the show hosts more than the actual physical activities of the competitors. I thought the commentary on Mullet Man was particularly funny!

Yes!  Bruce!  I remember that episode.  And, I, too love the ranting banter that goes on between John Henson, the other guy and the lady ... okay, I forget the names (lol), but this is one reality program, that I truly enjoy!

Exactly Jean, it is definitely a family program!  My family and I have the entire house shaking with laughter on Wednesdays!  And an added plus, they repeat the program again on the weekends.  Thanks for reading and sharing a comment.

Ronyae-thanks for your review of the show! I will stop and watch it sometimes when I stumble across it. It does look painful sometimes when they miss on those jumps! Thanks so much for sharing!

That's the joy of it, Laura!  Sometimes, it feels as if I can feel their pain, and find myself holding a neck here, a leg there (smile).  Thanks for reading and sharing a comment.

Ronyae, we really enjoy this show and thought the commentary is harsh, it is funny. We believe our son-in-law could go on that show and win, but you have to live in CA to compete.

Lorrie, thanks for that 'heads-up', I didn't know that you had to be a resident of California to compete; seems a bit unfair.

Laughter is always a welcome visitor in my home. Especially, when it's not me doing something silly!

This was written very well and I liked it, the only reason for the lowered star is I am not into TV at all so it didn't do much for me.

Sounds like something I would like to watch. My husband and I used to watch a Japanese show that was similar to what you describe and we loved it. It no longer comes on--at least not in our area and we miss it. Thanks for sharing.
