Papa,
Your children and grandchildren remembered,
The little things you loved gave and shared.
We want to gift wrap something really nice
We wish to send it to your location precise.

Papa,
There were so many things we knew you dealt,
You were so generous and your love heartfelt.
We want to gift wrap love, care and appreciation,
But we do not know for certain its destination.

Papa,
You were full of wisdom and commonsense,
And faced life's challenges with confidence
We want to gift wrap hope and peace to you,
But we do not know where to send it to.

Papa,
A simple letter now pointless it's condensed,
To send, read aloud, message evidenced
We will gift wrap joy and happiness to you
Where do we send this gift, we do not know.

Papa,
You taught us good work ethics and how to persevere
To accomplish our goals for a future we deserve
We wish to present you our success gift wrapped
We do not know for certain where it can be dropped.

Papa,
We missed you more than imagination can fathom
We owed you a lot and it seemed it has no bottom
We just want to gift wrap our love for you
But we do not know where to send it to.

Papa,
You are gone but we are never far apart
You will forever stay in our mind and heart
We want our kinship presented as in a psalm
In heaven our gift delivered to a place so grand.

Hi Judy.
Thank you for your kind words.  I am very thankful and am glad that you liked my poem.  It has been nine years since my dad passed on (I called him Papa) but he remains in me in spirit.  Father's Day is the day we cherished fathers, deceased and living and remember them.
I still enjoy reading your article, "Franklin Tennessee: Family Fun and Family Counseling?"
Best regards to you and yours,
Nenita

Hi Connor.
Thank you for your kind words, it means a lot to me and am glad you enjoyed and liked my poem, a tribute to my father.
I looked up in Wikipedia the poet, William Topaz McGonagall, a weaver (he is a weaver of words!) from Dundee, Scotland. I like him and his work, an amuzing comic poet.  He wrote, "The most startling incident in my life was the time I discovered myself to be a poet, which was in the year 1877."
Best regards to you and yours.

Hi Nenita,

A very nice ode and tribute to your father. I hope you can remember the good times and the wonderful strong examples your father obviously set at what is probably a difficult time of the year for you.

Take care,

Ben.
