Lower Left Back Pain is common among people and can be caused by a number of reasons. Improper use of the back muscles lead to Lower Left Back Pain. If you sit on a chair for longer periods, say in front of the computer, poor posturing, where the left side of the back is under constant strain, can lead to Lower Back Pain.

Lower Left Back Pain is part of the larger lower back pain condition, which affects people mostly. The reason why the back suffers can be attributed to our sedentary life style. An office job in the pre-computer era was not as strenuous for the back as it is now. In those days, people would keep shifting weight and position in their chairs to allow rest to the back. Now with computer monitors fixed in a particular position, there is little scope for adjusting your position and weight in your office chair. Sitting in one particular position for hours together puts the lower back under a lot of strain. The back cannot take this constant strain on everyday basis. This initially leads to lower back stiffness and gradually the back starts getting painful.

The lower back cushions the weight of the upper body, and it acts as a shock absorber to reduce the impact of walking and running. Joggers, who jog on cemented tracks or on roads, expose their backs to greater risk of injury because of higher intensity of shock. Lower Left Back Pain can start with injury to the left leg, hip or back. The muscles, tendons, ligaments, joints, nerves, discs and bones are under constant strain when we are mobile. Our turning, twisting and bending movements also put the lower back under strain. Regular back stretching and strengthening exercises will keep your back supple and strong.

Infection of the left kidney and the sciatica nerve of the left leg can also cause Lower Left Back Pain. If you experience sharp pains in the left side of the back, consult a physician to diagnose your condition.

probably due to an early in life sports injury where you couldnt get up for half hour and went on disability for 9 months. Second is poor posture which is when you dont stand straight. Third is lifting heavy or 30 or more pounds plus bending and turning like working in a pharmacy retail. Sitting at work, in small car, over 5 hours in good bible church. Fallen arches need the right orthotics because the pronating problem is always with you even on good old treadmill. Once over 45, some arthritis and disc bulging loin in which causes muscles to help out and cause satelite trigger points and dry needle myofascial release helps in warm, dry weather for about up to 10 days. IN colder damp weather, maybe 2 or 3 days. If you do not have an addictive personality, Lortab and ativan for really bad days.
if you get dependent too quick which is natural, get to a dx disc compression machine and dont be cheep. Lay out 2 grand and insurance might pay 1 grand. This treatment knocks most pain out for close to 1 year but unfortunatly, it is not permanent. but results of myofascial trigger point therapy
plus the drx on the right discs usually l4 or l5 but could be near quadratus lumborum. Forget about chiropractors unless neck is bad but an ocassional crack by a cheap and knowledgeable doctor can have minimum benefits. Take lane labs calcium, b-complex with the right c for your tummy. Strengthen your back by roman chair in l.a. fitness and ab chair but both very gentle. Stretching on a soft carpet sometimes in macenzie position but hang out on your elbows for 8 to 10 minutes. Then tighten stomache and push into floor. Watch for tennis elbow and plantar fascitis when you overdue walking. Never run unless your back is only hurt for minor injury. Wait till it gets better though. Dont forget to pray that God will bless every means you use and dont be cheep to your health but watch out for quacks. Definitly go on a zone or lots of vegies, safe fruit, and hormone free chicken or cutlets and turkey burgers. Have a lot of fish oil and all this will help with chronic fatigue because you cant sleep and your brain need nutrtion. Effervessent and liquis vitamins and minerals as well as red and green pwders with filtered water. Filter should get out chriptosporidians
and pray that the terrorists dont hit our water. Candida should be treated with lamisol first and difucan second. Great news. Now both are generec and under 30 bucks for 1 month supply. Smack your doctor if he refuses to give you one of these if your back hurts for over 20 years and internet candida symptoms connected with back problems. Please leave your fillings alone. That is all I can give you except remember the sufferings Christ suffered and that willingly according to Gods plan to save all his people from their sin. How do you know your his? Voting democrat probably means your not. Jesus told nicodemus, the religious leader inJerusalem 2000 years ago, you must be born again. You start mourning over sin and realize only Christ can save you. Find a goog church which follows reformation teaching and join it. If yo see your heart as wicked and know God sent His Son to deliver you from the power of sin and the judgement to come, than rejoice that He will give you grace to bear up during your back pain. Only when people experience it for about 3 days will they understand what you must be going through. but You look at and judge your own sins and dont be bitter or jealous of those who seem to stay away from you. Hopefully your family will be ther and God and that is really all you need besides a sensitive doctor. I sure hope this is helpfull to all of you. Remember that without trusting in God and Jesus Christ as your power from above, it will be
much harder and you will be bitter.
Remember though, without God and your faith that he will give you strength when you are about to drop dead

Are you kidding? Since when does an article on back pain turn into a demented sermon from a wretched bible banger? If you have back pain, try a heating pad, or maybe a leg pillow for sleeping. If that doesn't work, try meds like Ibuprofen, which is an anti-inflammatory. Just make sure to check that it won't interfere with your current meds. Hopefully some of these suggestions will work for back pain sufferers. And PS...if you spend five hours in any kind of bible church and you have back pain from that, you deserve it! VOTE DEMOCRATIC!!

wow. mary is wicked, but I can sing. I know the love of Christ, and the lower left back pain. I vote republican. Abortion is MURDER. "The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God." Psalm 9:17 The King James Bible is the only Bible God uses for the English speaking people.

I thought I was getting information on lower back pain and I found a debate.
I'm not a Democrat and I'm not a Republican, I'm a CHRISTIAN and yes, abortion is murder. Now I'm going to another source regarding my back and abdomen pain.

the article was somewhat helpful for my question but informal just the same. the comments here were.....unexpected, interesting. this really is not the place. people like me are really looking for medical information and tips from others. rants and raves from someone on a binge does not really help someone in my shoes. just some thoughts. Oh and ALICIA, I will try to find a cure Autism or help someone who can :)

Too much nonsense, and very little helpful advice or real concern for the individual in need.

I suffer from lower left back pain that is evident when I sleep on my left side. I thought it was just a natural part of the process of the getting older.
I walk roughly 12 miles indoors at my warehouse job everyday on a cement floor five days a week. I wear steel toed shoes and steel soled safety shoes. The stress on your legs , feet, lower back and spine are tremendous. I also push a cart with a dead weight of roughly 110 pounds. Quite the workout considering I have to add weight to the cart as I do my job.

I went to physiotherapy a few years ago for the recurring pain in my neck and back and shoulders. I now do a number of pain site specific exercises to help me do my job with less anguish.

The secret here is to strengthen your lower back muscles which may include tightening your tummy muscles as well. Weak stomach muscles can contribute to extra spine stress. A number of easy-to-do leg lift exercises tends to alleviate my back problems.

If you are sitting for any length of time take a scheduled rest break. Sitting in front of a compoter can cuase undue stress on yuor back muscles. Stretch before you start computing and take timed breaks.

Back massages, accupressure and shiatsu may help as well.

Great article on back pain---some less commendable comments. Keep up the good work, Saurabh. Maybe you could write an article on 'backside' pain and get some sensible comments. Sandra.
