Although the number of swimming pool chemicals that are required to keep your pool sparkling clean and safe for swimming may seem confusing and overwhelming at times, there are ways to make your pool maintenance easier. With pool chemical value packs, you can get everything you need in one convenient package. Better yet, value pack pool chemicals often provide you with excellent savings as well. Whether you have an above ground swimming pool or an in-ground swimming pool, there are a number of great value packs of discount pool chemicals for you to choose from.

Swimming pool chemicals are absolutely vital to maintaining a safe and healthy swimming environment. When pool water is not properly treated with chemicals, it can become a breeding ground for bacteria and other harmful microorganisms. It can also become cloudy with dirt, debris and algae blooms. This not only makes the water look unpleasant, it also makes it unsafe as swimmers can become infected by the contaminants that are present. However, when the proper chemicals are added to the water in the right way, swimmers can enjoy hour upon hour of fun in healthy, contaminant-free water.

As already mentioned, there are many different packs of discount pool chemicals available on the market, for both in-ground and above ground swimming pools. For example, there are chemical value packs designed for use throughout the swimming season. These are available as chlorine chemical kits or as bromine chemical kits and contain everything you need to ensure that your pool water stays clean and clear day after day. Typically these packages of swimming pool chemicals will contain several pounds of stabilized chlorine or bromine tablets for killing bacteria and contaminants, several bags of chlorine-free shock for burning off impurities, an algae-fighting product, a stain-fighting product and chemical test strips.

In addition to the packs of discount pool chemicals intended for use throughout the swimming season, there are also many value packs that are designed for use at a particular time of year or for a more specific purpose. For instance, there are spring start-up kits that contain all of the formulated and pre-measured chemicals necessary for a smooth and successful pool opening at the beginning of the swimming season. Available for swimming pools of different sizes and volumes, these specialized packages of swimming pool chemicals typically provide a number of different chemicals including powerful chlorinated shock that will allow you to eradicate the dangerous bacteria and contaminants that have built up in your pool during the winter.

Just as there are value pack pool chemicals available for opening your swimming pool, there are also value pack pool chemicals available for winterizing your swimming pool. These can be chlorine-kits or chlorine-free kits. Chlorine-free winterizing value packs generally come with a special time-release floater that will continue to release a powerful non-chlorine oxidizer into the water for several weeks after you have closed your pool for the winter months. This oxidizer will remove carbon dioxide, one of algae's main food sources, from the water, thereby inhibiting algae growth.

Winterizing and spring opening discount pool chemical kits will also typically include additional chemicals such as stain and rust preventers as well as either Sun Sorb or Winter Sorb. Stain and rust preventers are specially formulated to eliminate the metals and minerals in your pool water that cause stubborn stains or waterline build up on your pool's liner. By using such products, you can save yourself the extra cost and effort of removing stains once they have already formed. Sun Sorb and Winter Sorb, on the other hand, are designed to absorb residual oils and lotions to prevent grimy waterline scum and greasy films on the water's surface.

While several different types of chemical value packs contain an algaecide, there are also packages of swimming pool chemicals that are specifically geared toward battling algae growth. In addition to algaecides, these kits contain chemicals such as super clarifiers to clear cloudy water, pool shock to help kill the algae and pH reducers that can be used to adjust the pool's pH level to a range that will allow the pool shock to work most effectively. By providing you with all of these chemicals as well as a simple five step process to follow, these chemical value packs will allow you to solve your algae problem while saving time and money.

Of course, cost and time savings are benefits that can be enjoyed with any type of value pack pool chemicals. Instead of having to shop around for multiple discount pool chemicals, you can get everything you need in one go. With their great low prices and their incredible convenience, value pack pool chemicals can be the key to a happy, easy and budget-friendly swimming season.
