Going Green seems to be the new mantra and is justified. We can not only recycle and help the environment but have fun and be creative. There are many obvious ways to recycle but how about recycling those gift baskets that you receive and letting the gift experience last forever.

There are many obvious and creative ideas for recycling gift baskets. If you received the gift baskets in the traditional wicker basket here are some great recycling ideas. Not only is it a practical thing to recycle but nowadays it is fashionable to be one who recycles. So get hip and with the times as well as add functionality and aesthetics to your environment.

  1. Sewing Basket make the gift basket that you received into a sewing basket with everything that you need to keep up with your normal sewing needs. Add thread, scissors, needles, measure tape and what ever else you might need to make up your sewing kit.
  2. Catch all basket the gift basket converts to a great catch all basket that you can use in your kitchen or family room for your keys, cell phone etc. What ever you need to use every day and are always losing. A great place to have all those things you need handy at your finger tips.
  3. Mailing Center a great place to keep all your unpaid mail, stamps, envelopes, pens and what ever you may need to have a handy portable mail center for you to carry around wherever you may be paying the bills.
  4. Planter convert that beautiful gift basket into a great planter. The Natural material of the wicker basket compliments the plant and would accent and enhance any dcor.
  5. Fruit Basket remind yourself about the thoughtfulness of the gift every time your reach out to grab some fruit fro your new fruit basket converted from the gift basket.
  6. Guest Basket make a special welcome gift basket for your guests in the guest room. Fill it with goodies or items that would make them feel comfortable in their home away from home.
  7. Remote holder finding the correct remote at the desired time is always difficult. Use the beautiful gift basket you received to not only add aesthetic value to your room but also functionality. Keep all your remotes and other media stuff that you might need in this newly converted remote caddy.
Many Gift baskets designers are now moving away for the traditional wicker baskets as the container. More and more creative ideas are being used like a bathtub for a baby basket, ice buckets for wedding or romantic baskets, leather trays for executive baskets to name a few. All these things are chosen with the idea of being used beyond holding the items in the gift baskets.

So get creative and put everything you can in the gift basket to use so that not only can you extend the gifting experience but also get the biggest bang for the buck for the gift. More importantly it really is time for us to stop being wasteful and recycle as many products as we can. Have fun and go green!
