"There is something wrong with you and I want you to come to the counselor with me. If you don't, your contact with your grandchild will be supervised!"

Sound familiar? Now on face value this looks like a concerned parent attempting to keep her child out of harms way.

However, when you look more closely at what's going on here, your see the danger is not coming from the supervised grandparent; to the contrary, the danger is toward the supervised grandparent.

How do you know who is in danger under these circumstances?

1) If you are told that you must see a therapist that someone else has selected.

2) If this therapist has contact with the referring family member without your consent.

3) If the therapist refers you for an evaluation under the guise of referring you to another therapist.

4) If you are told by the evaluation center to bring another person to your evaluation that can provide information about you.

5) If you are told that you must do the above in order to have something rightly yours that is being withheld, like your visitation rights.

Then chances are you are being backed into a psychiatric nightmare that will define and limit you, indefinitely.

If you are scratching your head wondering how this can happen, stop wondering and start recognizing how psychology and psychiatry can be used to carry out another person's agenda. It's not about you!

If you are the person endangered by the threat to use mental health to punish, discredit or control you, proceed with caution before the crazy-making psychological abuse spirals out of control.
