It's not easy to research an unusual wedding theme because, well, they're personal and unique. So just how do you decide on a theme? Start by making a list of your interest, hobbies and favorite sports. Do you belong to any clubs? Consider a wedding based on your dominant ethnic background.

All 4 seasons have symbolism that can be used as a theme. For example when you think of winter you think of mistletoe, Christmas trees and the colors red and white. 2. Nationality
Movies often depict weddings based on a nationality. You probably already thought of at least one. Some brides have beautiful weddings based on their ethnic background. If you have a dominant nationality consider the traditions, colors, music, etc. and you'll have your theme.
3. Sports
Does the bride or groom love or participate in a particular sport? If so this can be a fun wedding theme. You can use team colors, symbols of team gear or clothing for starters. Decorate the reception with posters and team colored flowers.
To choose a theme your best bet is to start with a subject you are passionate about then think creatively. Invite wedding party members over or out to dinner and let them help you brainstorm. It'll be a fun night and you'll be amazed at the ideas that result. After that you can begin to plan your themed wedding.
