If you have ever tried to connect a VGA computer to a component HDTV you have probably spent hours of time and walked away with no working solution. The reason for this is that most VGA to Component cables on the market today are not built for real VGA ports - they are intended to be used with 15-pin D-Sub ports which most computers do not have.
Now, however, you can buy true converters that will maintain a 480i, 720p or 1080i signal either in NTSC or PAL. These are simple to use - you simply connect your standard VGA port from your computer to it and connect the other side to your component inputs on your high-definition television set.
This is the perfect solution for anybody with a television set greater than 28" who cares about having a quality picture on their HDTV. It costs a little more, but in the long run your home theater experience will be better for it. |
