During tough economic times, many Americans will cut back on spending big bucks at shopping centers and malls. This is due to many factors including but not limited to job loss; salary cut; going out of business, and so forth. Although there is economic pressure, some people will continue to spend big dollars because they did not lose their job or go out of business. However, some of these individuals will start to put away money in a savings account just in case they do lose their job or go out of business. Whatever a person's circumstance in a tough economy one thing's for sure they will start to spend their money wisely. One way to spend your money and save is to buy used from online and offline consignment shops.

It should come as no surprise that many businesses are closing shop and selling their merchandise on auction houses like eBay and Amazon to cut costs like their electricity and lease bill. Consumers have also turned to these Auction giants to save over 50% off the retail value. The thing with online consignment is the fact that you can find bargains all over the world and not just in your own back yard. The convenience in just that is turning more and more consumers to shop for consignment online. There are some people that prefer to go to consignment shops directly for a number of reasons: to see how clothes look on them; to save in shipping costs; and loyalty to the shop. Overstock only charges its customers $2.95 for their entire order no matter what they buy. This is an excellent deal considering how much actual shipping charges are for furniture.

Brides are also turning to online auction houses like eBay, Amazon, Preownedweddingdresses.com, and InfaCity.com to save money when planning their wedding. Who wants to spend most of their savings on something that happens once? During these economic times when it might be possible that you could lose your job it is would be a safe bet to have some money saved up for a rainy day. Brides can chop their budget in half if they bought a gently used wedding dress or some left-over ceremony and reception decorations. Nobody would even know the stuff was used unless you told them. Although the stuff is classified as used the bride probably opened it but never really put it to use.
