Red Carpet moments were filled with emotions as entertainers from yesteryear and today came together to honor "The King of Pop", Sunday, June 28th for the annual BET Awards. According to BET's CEO Debra Lee, the program viewed on Sunday had been 're-arranged' to honor fallen icon, Michael Jackson in less than 3 days. But BET staff members, participants and other artists who volunteered to pay tribute to the "King of Pop", produced a miracle. and the show was a hit, with special appearances by Don Cornelius, the O'Jays and a host of others [MIAs] in the industry.

The best appearance would be Janet Jackson, speaking on behalf of her family.

courtesy BET It's true, their father Joseph Jackson was in attendance for the awards show, and respectfully accepted all the tributes and kind words of expression in honor of Michael. But nothing brings us closer to Michael, than his baby sister, and to have her bring the expressions of the family, through teary eyes, caused my rainfall to start. "...[He] was an icon to you, but to us-he is family ... we miss him so much," Janet expressed to the fans, supporters and friends of their family.

That statement alone was proof that Michael's family understands how much he meant to the world, and how much the world will miss him, his creativity and love for harmony in a world.

Thanks Ronyae... The personal for me was to remember the little kid in the yard on W. Grand Blvd throwing footballs with other kids (1968?, before 1970 and after 1968 for sure). The point is, he was just another kid. I saw what was become an "Iconic Stabilized Being." Thanks for your pen.

Michael Jackson was a truly talented and gifted performer who provided the whole of humanity his entertaining music, his innovative dance style and his unbounded energy and enthusiasm. His talent and his being will be missed by all.

His family as well as his  friends and supporters all feel the tragic loss his untimely death has created.

Good article Ronyae.
