The term HVAC stands for heating, ventilating and air conditioning. Specifically, it is understood as a vital tool in climate control. HVAC systems are highly favored by construction industries as well as building and homeowners since they help in the closer monitoring of the environment's specific temperature.

HVACs have the capacity to regulate weather and thermal conditions and are built in accordance with existing safety and health regulations. At some points, the letter "R" may be seen jointly with the HVAC acronym representing the word refrigeration.

Understanding the role of HVAC systems may be done through describing what the acronym stands for. To start with, heating, ventilating and air conditioning are all governed by thermodynamics, heat transfer and fluid mechanics principles. The system was actually introduced in line with the Industrial Revolution. From time to time, innovations are made to construe with modernization.

Heating

As part of an HVAC system, heating is essential especially during wintertime or cold seasons for other parts of the globe. Central heating is one of the most popular types of heating systems. This concept applies to commercial establishments, public buildings and even private residences. The purpose, as mentioned awhile back is to provide heat to the area while it is severely cold.

The central heating system consists of a heat pump, a boiler or a furnace. In public buildings, it is seen in the mechanical room while in a residence, it is usually located in a furnace room. Radiators are often used to complete the system in order to allow transfer of heat accumulated from the residential or commercial space out to open air.

Ventilating

This part of HVAC systems is described as the process of transforming air in order to regulate not only temperature but other interferences from the environment like moisture, odor, dust, heat and smoke. At times, it is also capable of preventing airborne bacteria from infecting the air surrounding people. It is either of the following two processes: air circulation in a closed space such as a commercial building or a residence; or air exchange going to the outdoors. Ventilation may further be classified as mechanical (or those with the use of exhaust systems and other ventilation technologies) or natural (does not use any fan or mechanical gadgets and technologies).

Air Conditioning

Air conditioning is one of the most widely-recognized parts of HVAC systems. It is very popular in extremely humid and tropical countries. Together with refrigerator systems, it functions very well in heat removal. The process may also be done with the use of convection and conduction processes as well as water, ice and air.
