A seminar speaker who was giving a lecture on promotional products asked the audience to raise their hand if they were against quality. Of course no one would admit that quality didn't matter even when it came to promotional products, in fact quality in promotional products is one of the key factors in a successful marketing program. In today's competitive market promotional products that contain elements of quality or project value in some way are worth the additional money it costs to produce them. Companies around the world are developing quality promotional products that tickle the imaginations of prospective consumers, make them smile and they provide a service in the process.

An Australian company who is in the travel business introduced a promotional 10 cent can of beans in tomato sauce. They manufactured private label beans and started selling them for 10 cents. The promotion was based on the concept of saving money on food so a travel holiday could become a reality. Their website had a 38% increase in traffic and they were featured on over 3500 blogs across Australia. Another company revived the monitor mirror which was popular a few years ago. An adult website in Brazil started giving away monitor mirrors to promote their online entertainment business. The mirrors were designed to provide a service for clients who wanted to visit their site during office hours. The company sent them to paid subscribers. The mirror represents a "don't get caught" service which doesn't fall into the category of quality or value, but it did get attention.

Club Med came up with a unique promotional product that offers a service and has collector's appeal. Shellphones are headphones made out of shells to promote an island holiday or a vacation. The shellphones are packaged in a wicker printed box and they make their point instantly. The brand message is reinforced every time the shellphones are used.

The list of new quality promotional products is a long one. Google packaged five computer items as promotional products and employees gifts and that promotion is successful. Quality promotional products that are designed with service in mind return big rewards. Every hand in the seminar agreed with that marketing concept.
