I was speaking with my ten-year-old daughter the other night. She had seen a flyer for the up coming tea parties and wanted to know what they were all about. I explained that the primary purpose is to exercise our constitutional right to assemble and let the government know that we the people disagree with the things that are happening in Washington lately. I explained that to government is spending more money then they have. She asked, How can the government could do that, aren't they supposed to be looking out for the rest of us?' What a great question! My ten year old gets it. Why can't the rest of America? Is it really too much to expect those we put in power to do what is right? I don't think so. The political figures that we have elected have lost sight of what they were put there to do. That is to be representatives of their constituents (you and me). The political figureheads are spending outside their means. What American in their right mind would spend more than they can afford. Sure everyone borrows money sometimes, to buy a car or a house, but not without some sort of plan of how to pay it back. They certainly have a plan of what to do with it. The president is borrowing billions of dollars to fund pet projects that should be funded by other means. The government already has a hand in our pockets because of past mistakes. We should not let them get their hands any deeper. I call for an era of responsibility. Our representatives should be held accountable. They each have a budget and should be made to stick to it. If they can't handle finance 101, don't spend what you don't have, they should not be in the position to do so. The politicians in power have already shown they can't be trusted with our money and NEED TO GO!!!!!!!! I call for everyone to get out and vote these thieves out of office. I personally will vote against every incumbent. That's right, EVERY ONE OF THEM! The definition of insanity is to try the same thing over and over and expect different results. Its time for decent hard working honest Americans to be in charge again. The kind of people who founded this great nation is what we need now. How about voting for someone who is one of us. Someone who remembers what it is like to be an everyday American with real problems. We need someone who will stand beside us, not on top of us. Thank You and God bless America
