BOGO shoppers are amongst the savviest shoppers out there. If you are buying the buy one get one free sales, you are getting some of the best deals to be found anywhere. You have the opportunity to cut your household spending tremendously by shopping primarily the BOGO sales. These essentially half-price items mean that you are paying 50% of what you would otherwise for the same items.

One of the top ways that BOGO shoppers save money is by taking advantage of these amazing discounts to stockpile things that don't expire or things with far out expiration dates. BOGO shoppers track sales and know how long it will take before they see the same items on sale again. We know to stock up with at least enough of the item to last 8 weeks, the standard lapse between BOGO sales of the same item.

BOGO Friendly Coupon Strategies

As committed BOGO shoppers, my wife and I also save money by using coupons on our BOGO items. In order to get a rock bottom price you need to use two coupons, one for each of the items. Use the highest value coupons you can find for a given item. Often high value coupons can be found online at various coupon websites. It you are wondering how to have enough of the same coupons to at least have one for each of the two items you are buying, the answer lies in buying multiple copies of the Sunday paper. You can also order coupons if you find an incredible deal that combined with coupons makes for an irresistible stock-up sale price.

Another coupon technique that many BOGO shoppers use to save additional money is coupon stacking. If you happen to be able to find a store coupon in addition to a manufacturer's coupon for a given item, you can use both. This type of coupon stacking often means that you are paying almost nothing for your BOGO items. Some stores will accept competitor's coupons and these can also be used for coupon stacking.

BOGO Friendly Retailer Strategies

Another technique BOGO shoppers use when shopping the sales is to plan meals around the specials. Check out what is on sale for the week and create a menu for your family from the best deals available. Check your pantry to be sure you have the necessary items for your recipes. If not, add the needed things to your grocery list. Snacks, desserts and drinks can even be chosen from the weekly BOGOs.

Combine drugstore reward programs and BOGOs for great savings. Every week at many drugstores you will receive store cash back for purchasing selected items. There are typically a variety of BOGOs in the same store's flyer. (Or you can subscribe to a weekly email service or have these specials sent to you automatically!) Then, by separating your purchase and ringing items up in 2 different transactions, you can use the store money back from the first purchase to help pay for the second purchase with all the BOGOs.

By getting some of these techniques under your belt, you will be able to save money like other BOGO shoppers do every week. Work the system and keep your money where you want it to be, in your own pocket. And make sure you use a free website like www.BOGOfetcher.com to view all your local BOGOs in less than a minute.
