Independence Day regarded as the birthday of the U.S.A
It falls on the fourth of July come what may.
Many are looking forward to lightening up the grill
Some will go to the beach or park just to "chill"
Everyone I know is looking forward to this day
Just so they can "laze" it away

Many have forgotten why we celebrate
Many don't care to even speculate on this date
Some pull out the American flags once hidden in their pantry
Trying to show their patriotism for this great country
Independence Day we all should indeed celebrate
Truth, justice and liberty for all is the "theme for this day"

As I look around me and listen to news on T.V.
I ask myslf "are we really free indeed"?
Many are "hooked" on all types of medications
Dulling their minds from mental persecution
The news reporters blasting the airwaves with their "own revelation"
Nothing but "bad news" reported on the economy
Suicide, murder, rape, incest and pornography is at an all time high
This is the news reported for our children to see

Prisons are packed to overflowing
Kids without supervision from their parents are growing
Men marrying men and women with women
This ought not to be in a "free country"
What is to happen to this next generation of you and me?

Abe Lincoln and John Kennedy had a vision
They saw the clarion call of God on this great nation
I now wonder what happened to humanity?
A country without Christ is a lawless country indeed.
