Feeling rundown, stressed and short on time? Stress and anxiety cloud thinking, wasting time and energy. Avoid the dangers and high cost of meds. Strengthening your immune system is easy - do it with every meal and take exercise "stress-relief" breaks. It really is that simple.

The hard part? Breaking the old eating habits and work compulsions. They are only habits - and will give way over time. It does take a plan and making it public (posting it up) so it stays "top of mind."

Your subconscious dominates - 95% of the time - and it takes about 21 days to insert a new habit. The 5% you are "mindful" will not over-ride your old habits - as you know from attempting to make changes. A few good ideas alone won't change much. Those ideas only "stick" and become new habits with repetition and over time.

Clear your mind with home remedies, super nutrition, and retreats to a spa or to nature. Your new-found insights will save you time and maximize your efforts.

Stressed, low nutrition thinking is confused and repetitive. You'll save hours - and accomplish more -- with refreshing breaks, home remedies, and healthy diet choices.

Home Remedy Cures and Herbal Magic

and driven doctors

Walking and exercise are mandatory -not an option. If you don't move, your body cannot function well. Remedies won't help you if you don't help yourself. Begin with a routine you like, and keep at it. Yoga is an excellent activity uniting "body, breath and mind" -- to stretch and energize.

How important is water?

You can go a long time with low nutrition, or even go without food for weeks -- but you can't survive but a few days without water.

Water covers almost 70% of the earth. You are 90%+ water. You evolved from the sea (remember the embryo evolving into a baby in your mother's womb?) and you need lots of water to thrive. Water is constantly depleted by your body and must be restored hourly.

Water heals an amazing array of symptoms. Headaches, constipation and digestive disorders improve remarkably with simply drinking large amounts (gallon or more) of water. You are 90%+ fluids - and when you are in the habit of not replenishing water needs, the body takes liquids it needs from the colon, digestive track and lymph. Hence - stress and pain in those areas. It's pretty easy to add water - lots of it - every day, and prove this to yourself.

Water relieves: constipation, spastic colon and elimination disorders; Migraine headaches show marked improvement (chronic conditions require diet and stress modifications too); PMS and pre-menstrual cramps (also lower calorie intake); joint tenderness and cramping; lower back pain is often kidney or liver ailments - and water flushes out toxins.

Flavored solar energized water at room temperature is great method to balance your emotions, increase your water intake and energize yourself. Fill a quart glass pitcher with purified water, and add herbs and/or food, and place in the sun in the morning for an hour or so. Try several leaves of mint or basil or a favorite herb and then add cucumber or lime or lemon or strawberries -- your favorites. You can also make "sun tea" by adding tea herbs and placing the pitcher in the sun for 3-4 hours. You now have a solar energized home remedy high-powered drink!

is all in your head. Relax."

Lemon grass tea (slice 1-2 stalks into 1" chunks and simmer for 30 minutes.) Soothing and calming, this is a good "bed time" or afternoon "wind-down" drink.

Chamomile tea is a classic for calming anxious nerves, and for sleeping more soundly.

Mint tea (Fresh mint leaves in pot, and pour boiling water over them - allowing them to steep for 4 minutes.) Is a good digestive aid and pick-me-up. Add honey for a sweat treat.

Peppermint tea is calming if you are feeling angry or frustrated. It is also a mild digestive aid, and pick-me-up drink.

Honey and cinnamon tea (raw honey and non-irradiated cinnamon and water under 120) has many healing properties, and as a tea, is a good digestive aid and assists with weight-loss.

Raw, unfiltered apple-cider vinegar and honey tea. Heat water and add 1-3 Tbl. of Raw, unfiltered apple-cider vinegar and a teaspoon of honey (or to taste) for a digestive aid that also helps restore healthy digestion, rids excess gas, and better elimination.

Celtic Cold Cure: boil in glass quart pot: 1/4 cup of ginger, 1 chopped apple and 2 tea bags (green or black) for 30 minutes on simmer. Soothing and healing, this is a wonderful comfort to an achy sore body! Add honey to taste.

Eucalyptus tea (simmer fresh Eucalyptus leaves for 15 minutes.) Soothing and invigorating, a digestive aid and tasty treat.

Natural Health and Healing Remedies for common ailments

nutrition provides

Aloe Vera either in liquid or caps is an excellent herbal remedy for constipation and to energize a slow digestive system.

Castor Oil (cold pressed and hexane free) is an ancient remedy. Yes, it tastes awful. But it works miracles!

Castor Oil is excellent for softening rough skin and promoting healing of skin disorders. Massage into areas of sore muscles or stiffness for quick relief. For stomach ailments make a pack (saturate a flannel or soft cloth) and place over abdomen (or sore area.) Cover with plastic wrap and apply heat (hot water bottle or pad) to increase the penetration.

Castor oil has hundreds of additional uses brought to light by the Edgar Cayce Readings. It was often successfully prescribed for serious healing with excellent results.

"The doctor of the future
will no longer

frame with drugs,
but rather will cure
and prevent disease

Cinnamon helps slow down the rush of sugar to the blood, which in turn helps prevent gaining weight. It's also an anti-inflammatory, and helps to delay the onset of aging, loss of vitality and enhances mental clarity.

There are many home remedies using honey and cinnamon for a variety of ailments -- including -- Coffee acid neutralized, insect bites, arthritis, bladder infections, colds, upset stomach or gas, Skin infections, losing weight, and to stop bad breath.

Natural Healing Remedies for the body-mind.

"There must be quite
a few things that a hot
bath won't cure, but
I don't know many of them."

Sylvia Plath

Hot showers or a bath restores inner calm, as well as cleansing the body. Soak in sea-salt or epsom salts to relieve stress and tired achy muscles. Add Comfrey leaves, Eucalyptus leaves, herbal combinations or essential oils selected from the health food store.

Massage is good for the body, mind and soul. Take a mini-vacation at least every few weeks to restore your body's equilibrium. Make it a "spa" or massage get-away and consider the expense "preventative medicine."

"Climb the mountains
and get their good tidings.
Nature's peace will flow
into you as sunshine
flows into trees.

The winds will blow
their freshness into you,
and the storms their energy,
while cares will drop off
like falling leaves."

John Muir

Hi Wes, now that you see a "remedy" you'll find relief - we get so caught up in the "drama" of living we forget - it's up to us to find our own balance.

Thanks for your comments! Good Fortune, Cheryl

Thanks Cheryl, I really enjoyed your article. I am a health nut! Your advice will certainly be taken under consideration. I drink so much water I started to wonder if I was drinking too much. During these summer months I probably drink 8 to 10 bottles a day. I wonder if hot chocolate is good for you as well, I am also a hot chocolate addict. have a great day!

Hi - thanks for your comments - I too love hot chocolate - or iced too! To relieve a painful symptom of stress it does take lots of water - and often herbs too. Getting back to nature is the BEST remedy of all - seems to lift spirits and promote self-healing.

Hi Laura - thanks for the suggestion - and I agree. I did cut out 50% of it (it's on my site) but I want to really give some remedies that work - and not just the introduction....it's a fine line and I seem to always err on the side of "too much."

I always see the person who has a problem and wants to make a change - and I write to them.
