Has the bad economy put you in a tough position with your relationship. Your worst fears have come true, you recently lost your job and your partner or spouse is taking on all the financial responsibilities. On top of that, you can't find another job and the stress at home is bringing you to your Witt's end. Its uncomfortable at home, and your relationship is on needles and pins. The end looks near.

Well, your not alone. This goes on every day, you just have to do something about it. If you want to save this relationship, and need to save it, you have to take action now. Take the steps slow, one at a time, and start now. To start with, you have to stay as calm as you can and don't contribute to any arguments. Don't just be quiet, but don't argue. This will go a long way to begin with.

Next, you need to take a good look at how the relationship is and see if you can figure out how it got there. Try to see if you did or didn't do something to make things get bad. You can only fix what you control, so if you think losing your job is something you did, think again. You don't have control over losing your job. Look at what you can do to make yourself better in some way. Just work on you, not your spouse or partner, but you.

Try not to do anything that you know your partner doesn't like. That will help to keep the stress level down, for you both. Look for a job and let your partner know that you've been looking. Its a tough world right now, so don't make it tougher. Don't suggest that your spouse or partner change anything. Their stress is at the limit right now, so don't add to it. You need them, and they really need you. Don't let that change.

A little bit at a time make some small conversation, maybe about something that you did together that you both enjoyed. Bring up some pleasant memories of you doing things together. This will help to get the stress down, and you'll begin to enjoy each other a bit more. Take your minds off the everyday stress, even if its only for a short time. As the days go by the relationship will begin to grow stronger and you'll come to realize that your both giving and sharing like always. You'll stop the relationship from ending, and you'll get the relationship back where you want it. The job will come in time.
