My phone number is on the do not call list and I never give it out to anyone for fear of telephone spammers getting ahold of it. Well, its happened. Over the past week, I can't even tell you how many phone calls I have received on my personal home phone number.

Knowing that these issues are common to many people, I wanted to write to share some ideas with others in hopes of stopping annoying phone calls.

Using a reverse phone directory is key to at least identifying annoying phone calls.

1) Write down the phone number. Write down the number to ensure that you can remember that they did in fact call you

2) Ask them to stop calling you. Politely request that they do not call you again if you get a chance to talk to them. Many calls are done in an automated fashion.

3) Use a reverse phone directory. Look them up via a reverse directory
