One of the largest followings, in the world of gaming, has to be the Guitar Hero franchise. The ability to hold a guitar and interact with the controllers give people the feeling that they are a star musician. Each time a new version comes out, fans begin to talk of what will come out next. That is why Activision and Neversoft, have decided to come out with Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock.

Legends of Rock, available on all major platform systems, is not just a slight update from the previous games, but is instead a fresh experience worthy of purchase even if you own the others in the Guitar Hero series. If you haven't played any of the Guitar Hero games of the past, the premise is simple. Using the guitar controller, you play along to the music by hitting buttons on the controller as their corresponding shapes scroll down the screen in front of you. The basic tenant of the game is to correctly time your strumming - when done correctly, even the most amateur player can sound like a rock star.

While the game play in Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock is 99% similar to that of the previous games, the game boasts an entirely new and different soundtrack, which is arguably the best in the series. Along with the new songs comes an impressive list of rock and roll legends (hence the name) such as Slash and Jimi Hendrix that pop up as the game progresses. While the storyline is fairly straight forward and minimal, it's important to remember that this game is not about story. The fun and replay factor is 100% from the ability to quickly pick up the controller and sound/feel like a rock star.

They say a music game is only as good as they sound, Legends of Rock has a great sound, that's even more incredible on a surround sound. This game really cranks out the tunes at the right times, so make sure your windows are shut! As for graphics, there are games that are much better, but again this game is about the music.

If you are in the hunt for a fun, easy to pick up game to share with friends, Legends of Rock is the game for you.

Guitar Hero Legends of Rock , possibly has the greatest song list out of all the Guitar Hero games. With legends such as Slash and Jimi Hendrix Guitar Hero III is a game that will be loved by all. You can purchase your copy today when you check out www.cdwow.com.
