Rowing is a great form of exercise. It allows you to build muscles in your upper body, and builds great cardiovascular health as well. Rowing is usually done in a kayak or canoe on a body of water. But, rowing can be done in your own home too. It can be done even if you only have a small place to use or store your rower.
 
Rowing machines come have different mechanisms that allow you to increase the tension on your machine. Hydraulic rowing machines are common in many gyms, however they are often bulky. This makes hydraulic rowers impractical for home use.

Magnetic rowers, on the other hand, are much more practical for home use. They are much smaller, therefore can be stored in smaller areas. They are also much quieter than hydraulic rowing machines.
 
There are several different makes and models of magnetic rowing machines. These models range in different sizes, as well as prices. This is not to say that the smaller ones will cost less than the larger ones. The cost pertains to the quality of craftsmanship that the machine has. The amount of space you have to use and store your rowing machine will determine the size that you wish to by.
