I spoke to some overweight friends of mine who said they felt this way because of their failings to lose weight among other things. They said no matter how hard they tried to stick to a diet it just wasn't happening. Their major concern would you believe had nothing to do with health but that of worry over trendy clothes not going to look good on them, "wrong," fat people can wear fashionable clothes and look fabulously trendy, and as for dieting to slim down - you can do it.
It was sad at the time of my chat listening to the fat, slightly podgy, plump, and short and stout people's stories. With tear filled eyes they told of their heartache and pain suffered over their weight problem. Their mumbling of words had me ask often for them to repeat what they had said. Those muffled words proved they wanted me to hear what they had to say, and yet, didn't, if you know what I mean. Their bloodshot "puffy" eyes now matched their paining puffy body while recapping on unpleasantries suffered over their weight. Most of their miseries they said came from the barrage of nasty taunts, and the supposed to be silent but loud sniggers from people who laughed over their size while wearing a trendy outfit... which they believed they looked trendy in.
Fat people's fashion is special and oversized people need to be aware of this to look chic and stylish. Wrong style of dress trousers or coat can damage your image even more. Unfortunately, it's a common fat person's mistake to make the wrong choice in style/design. If a trendy garment is to look the part on an overweight person then it needs to be tailored for their shape, and not make them out to be laughing stock - hence reason for cruel name calling. Get the style right and you're fat belly, big bum or other body part you have an issue with won't even get noticed.
