Everyone wants good information about wine and when researching recently, I came across this article from the Dallas Morning Newspaper and it is an article which I felt needed to be shared with others. You may already have seen it but, if not, this is great news for wine enthusiasts. Just in time for stocking up the shelves for the many upcoming holidays.
This particular article was labelled Wines Under $10.
I will not go into detail about the entire article, but will give just the wines and prices. These are all economical and affordable wines.
2008 Darby & Joan Cabernet Sauvignon, from Australia. Bursting with berry flavours. Showing availability at Sigel's, WineStyles in Flower Mound and Watauga, Put a Cork in It, and Shellman's Fine Wine and Spirits. Approximately $9.99.
2006 Red Diamond Cabernet Sauvignon, Washington State. True cabernet character and was the Dallas News Panel Pick. Widely available for between $9.00 and $10.00.
2007 Cortijo III Rioja, from Spain. Another great red available at Sigel's, select Goody Goody and Centennial Stores and Central Market. $8.99.
Ravenswood Vintners Blend Zinfandel, California. Well made and reliable. Widely available at $9.99.
Cristalino Brut Rose Cava, Spain. Sparkling wine, clean and refreshing, relatively low in alcohol. Found at World Market, Big Daddy's on NW Hwy, Whole Foods Market, select Goody Goody and Centennial stores, Pogo's and Addison Wine and Spirits.
2005 Parina Sparkling Shiraz from Australia. Dallas paper says this is fun and interesting and a bit over the top. $9.99 from Goody Goody, World Market, Big Daddy's, Whole Foods Market, select Centennial stores, Put a Cork in It, Brian's Wines and More and Mr. G's.
2005 Blackstone Merlot from California. Widely available and well made for the price of $8.99.
2006 Solaz Tempranillo - Cabernet Sauvignon from Spain. A well made, pleasing wine for $7.99 available at Kroger's, Alabertsons and Tom Thumb supermarkets, Big Daddy's and select Centennial stores.
2007 Torres Sangre de Toro, Spain. Good reviews consistently and available widely for only $9.99.
2007 Penfolds "Koonunga Hill" Shiraz-Cabernet, Australia. Great reviews and widely available at $9.99 also.
2008 Lindemans Bin 99 PInot Noir from Australia. Least expensive of all the wines we have listed today and is classified as a solid, versatile food wine. $7.49 widely available.
2007 Cellar No 8 Cabernet Sauvignon, California. Easy drinking, pleasant wine for a red table wine. $8.99 and widely available.
