Why is the matter of keeping a healthy vagina such a big issue when no one can see it that is unless you want them to? It's not like its skin now is it which shows flaws if bad foods are eaten or not given its daily dose of moisturizer. This might well sound an absurd query but believe me one I have heard all too often. Whether you can see the vagina or not, you won't "forget" it's there, and neither will the people up close if poor hygiene has contributed towards its unhealthy state, because you'll definitely smell it

Your overall well being can only ever be 100% if the vagina is included with all body repairs and maintenance. The vagina is a vital organ of the body which serves many purposes. You give birth from the vagina. The vagina is structured to accept the penis. The vagina allows menstrual blood to pass through. You urinate from the vagina. These pointers alone should tell you how important it is to look after the vagina. An "unhealthy" vagina can give rise to complications in the delivery room, prevent sexual intercourse, give cause for periods to become erratic, and if a fungal infection has reasoned unhealthiness it can cause severe discomfort and pain when peeing.

Every woman will experience a couple of the above mentioned (bar sex and birth) and therefore needs to protect the vagina from harm, and the only way to do this is to make sure it's in good condition. A healthy vagina is one that's prepared for action

Even though you may be an active energetic person who eats sensibly and does exercise to keep the body well, tending to the vagina is another kettle of fish so as to speak. There's no doubt having overall health will have a huge impact on the condition of the vagina, but when treating the genitals other practices will need to be included or endorsed as well as the two most primary (diet and exercise.) The vagina has its own personal requirements for preservation.

Not intentionally but some women tend to forget about their treasure until it gets itchy sweaty or smelly. This is not good. Keep on top and you help prevent itchiness and vaginal odor. If time, at times is an issue then basic care of the vagina is better than none at all. To achieve vaginal health will not require you doing anything complicated or fork out lots of cash.

Now let us look how we can get the vagina in ship shape condition so it can continue to work in the way nature intended.

1 Start by eating yoghurt and reduce the amount of sugar you have in a day. Yogurt is a good source which contains bacteria called acidophilus which destroys the bacterium sugar encourages.

2 A healthy vagina is one without infection. Vaginal infections are most likely to occur because of sweat and oil buildup. You need to cleanse the vagina/anus regularly and don't douche. Women think getting in on the inside to clean is a good move, well it's not, while douching may rid bad bacteria it can at the same time rid good bacteria too. The vagina is continually flushing itself so no need to douche. Inflammation (vaginitis) can rise from douching.

3 Condoms, not only do they help keep the genital area from becoming soiled; they protect you from unwanted STDs and pregnancy.

4 Allow your privates breathing space. Cotton is breathable fabric and should be considered over other materials which can suffocate the area causing a sweaty environment. Cotton permits air to circulate freely.

5 Remove soiled tampons and sanitary towels frequently. A tampon left inside the vagina for longer than six hours can result in a deadly condition called toxic syndrome.

6 Avoid scented sprays and soaps no matter how lovely the fragrance. Stick with mild soap and warm water for washing the vagina.

7 See your GP if there is blood spotting in-between the time of your menstrual cycle as this could be a sign of an unhealthy vagina affected by infection or other.

There is no special way to clean the vagina to keep it healthy other than that of washing it when necessary.

8 Mix vinegar in warm water and swill around the genitals to freshen

9 Make regular appointments to have a smear test (pap) and don't cancel them. Aside from serious disorders a pap test can also detect infections.

One primary issue most women in relation to the vagina worry over, is vaginal odor, and particularly the fishy type

10
A healthy vagina will have a small amount of creamy smooth white or clear discharge, the consistency of which will differ in each female and also depending on the point of the woman's menstrual cycle. Every woman will have their own original smell, but it should never be foul. If hygiene in these quarters is not 100% then stale discharge can cause odor.

11 If your discharge is heavy at times then wear a slim-line panty pad to absorb some of the discharge to help prevent smell.

12 Carry a spare pair of knickers at all times in case you feel the need to freshen up whilst out shopping or socializing.

13 If the fishy smell is caused by bacterial vaginosis, of which is a common condition for this particular odor? Then your discharge will appear grey or white in color, and thin.

14 Avoid being in stressful situations if possible as stress is a major cause for vaginal infections occurring.

There is no such thing as a perfect vagina but there is such a thing as a healthy one. And knowing what I know I would say a healthy vagina is one of perfection.

What Type Of Vaginal Odor Do You Have And Is It Caused By Bacterial Vaginosis
