Unlike the flood of Work from Home opportunities such as envelope stuffing, filing medical forms, processing emails or MLM schemes that promise ‘get rich over night’, processing FHA mortgage insurance refunds is a viable work from home opportunity.

Processing FHA insurance refunds is a real job that was originated by the Federal Government to assist them in finding and returning unclaimed mortgage insurance refunds to individuals who once had an FHA mortgage insurance policy when they purchased their home.

This FHA insurance premium could have cost the homeowner up to

2.5% of their loan amount at time of purchase. However, this insurance terminates if homeowner paid off their mortgage early, sold their home or refinanced their home with a non-FHA loan.

As a result, the homeowner maybe due a prorated amount of the insurance premium as a refund. By the time HUD/FHA discovers or is informed to terminate the insurance policy, the homeowner likely has moved on. The Government attempts to contact these homeowners by mail to return their refund, but with limited success. As a result, there are more than 100,000 individuals owed refunds totaling over $120m.in an account.

Admittedly this opportunity has gotten a bad rap from a number of companies and individuals who have abused this opportunity in the following manner.

· Claim or advertise themselves as an Official Representative of HUD/FHA.

· Mislead people in that as a Tracer works for HUD/FHA and will be paid by the Government.

· Present themselves as an employment agency and have a job available. For a finder’s fee, the individual will be merely sent a few forms and how to contact HUD/FHA.

· Many have re scripted material for supposed Manuals but are not Unclaimed Asset professionals. Plus offer no support.

Good luck to all. This is just one of a number of viable Work from Home Opportunities one can be successful with effort and organization. I was recently laid off due to lack of work at a part time job I was doing since retiring in 2001. I couldn't survive on my Social Security and had to take a part time job. Now that I am again forced to live mainly on my Social Security allotment, I am seeking additional work again. I received a phone call advising me to pay the $69.00 to become a processor. I almost fell for the call but second thoughts persuaded me to look into this further. Now that I have researched it somewhat, I have been left with bad feelings pertaining this supposed oportunity. Isn't there anything legitiment out there anymore for people in my situation.

Be careful, there are a few Companies that scam this opportunity via phone calls or postcards and ask for your credit card #. Go to our site in the article.

The $69 fee phone call is a scam. The link mentioned in the article, however, is real. The job basically entails that you call people the government owes refunds to and convince them to let you process the refunds for them for a fee. This is legal as the Federal Government along with HUD/FHA originated this work from home opportunity program and decided to allow others as Third Party Processors to assist them in locating the refund recipients of unclaimed refunds. Call HUD/FHA (800) 697-6967 to verify.

I just received a phone call about government processing insurance refund from home . I was interested so I continue to listen and was told to send $69.00 for a kit. I immediately hung up and did my research only to find out that the $69.00 fee is a scam. Should I call the HUD/FHA 800 number? I am really looking for work but don't want to be scammed.

I have called the 800#, and the person on the other end of the phone said that they

never heard of American Refund Service. I also have ordered the booklet. In

the booklet it says that American Refund Service will answer question in writing.

How come no one at American Refund Service has answered any of my questions. So, there for I don't think that American Refund Service is just another SCAM. Be careful on who you send your money to. Don't be like me and get ripe off.
