I have been taking a break from nearly everything, except my day job. If I did that, my daughters would have to hire someone to take care of their three children. Not that they wouldn't. I just don't want to entrust the care of Sugarplum, Lovebug and Baby Joseph to anyone else.

Beginning on the July 4th weekend, I got illness #1, which caused illness #2, which resulted in me getting a new M.D. to replace the incompetent one I had. The good news is I found an amazing M.D., who actually takes time to address my health concerns and really listens to me. I am now on the road to recovery and ready to begin writing again.

While I was on hiatus, I read several books and want to recommend them to you. The first is the True Story of the Bilderberg Group, the second is the Great Influenza. I can only say that after reading both books, I'm sure my blood pressure shot up ten points. However, forewarned is forearmed. If you have a strong stomach for graft and corruption, these would be good books to add to your library. Another good book I read is When All Plans Fail. The M.D. who wrote the book has been present at many international disasters and offers great advice.

With the extra time I've had, I've been reading reports from online news sources. I'd like to recommend that for an accurate information on the Swine Flu vaccine, go to the americanobserver.uk., type in the words Swine Flu and read what's happened to some of the people in the clinical test groups.

Fall is in the air today, so I've decided to do something positive and productive. For me, that often means cooking and/or baking. Today it's pasta e fagioli and corn bread muffins. Dinner is at 6.

Ya all come.

Hi, JP,

Thanks for reading and commenting.

I sure hope someone benefits from reading any or all of these things. They gave me some sleepless nights, but, in the end, knowledge is power and can save your life. Take care,

Grammy

I'm coming right over...might be a little late or get lost along the way. If I don't make it, start without me.

There's always leftovers at my house. And, I'll put some of them in the freezer, just in case.

Do you think reading those books had anything to do with your illness> I saw a well documented video on the Bilderberg group and it would sure answer a lot - but was very scary. Thanks for writing this piece! Marijo

» left by Grammy Guru (846) (83 days 19 hours ago.)
Hi, Marijo,

I was ill before I began reading any of the first two aforementioned books, but they certainly didn't make me rest easier. A friend recommended the books, so as long as I was taking it easy, lying back reading seemed like an innocuous pursuit.  Fat chance! I sure wish I'd seen the video on the Bilderbergs tho'. Maybe it will be repeated sometime.

Thanks for reading and commenting.

Best wishes,

Grammy

The Video was online but I don't have the address. It was a documentary - maybe it would come up with Google? Marijo (Mary Jo - dad got cute with the spelling)

» left by Grammy Guru (846) (83 days 16 hours ago.)
Thanks, Marijo. I will try to locate the video. Love your name!

I'm there!

I think a lot of folks would be shocked to know about what the Bilderberg group has in mind for us citizens, and who has taken part in their closed door meetings. But ...

What's pasta e fagioli?

» left by Grammy Guru (846) (83 days 16 hours ago.)
Hi, Ken,

You are SO right. There would, I hope, be an outright citizen's revolution in this country if the U.S. taxpayers had a clue about this sinister group, and what they are and have been doing to destroy this country.  It is time we educate ourselves and, with our votes and voices, take back our country before it's too late.

Re the pasta e fagioli, it is just a substantial vegetable soup with meat and pasta, sometimes referred to as Italian chili.  I've tried to make mine as good as the one served at the Olive Garden, but, alas, I don't know the exact spices to use.  However, mine isn't too bad.

Good read Grammy... but don't get too morbid... OK? :). Pasta sounds good, but I have developed my grandfather's aversion to cornbread (yes a disgrace to his Southern Black heritage!). Have a great day and good health to you! Blessings.

» left by Grammy Guru (846) (82 days 18 hours ago.)
Thanks for reading and commenting, Edward.  I used to dislike cornbread also; however, the Barefoot Contessa's recipe has changed my mind. Or maybe just slathering it with honey-butter makes it taste great.

Best wishes,

Grammy

Welcome Back Grammy Guru! Sorry to hear about all the illnesses! Thanks for the website! Think i may have to pass on the books since my husband already thinks i am a hypochondriac! Thanks for sharing!

» left by Grammy Guru (846) (81 days 17 hours ago.)
Hi, Laura. Glad to be back. Tell your hubby that many people who got the swine flu vaccine in the 1970's got the G-B Syndrome and have never recovered. I KNOW he doesn't want that to happen to either of you; however, the info on the website indicates that it is already happening again from the NEW swine flu vaccine!

Best wishes,

Grammy

Hi, Brianna,

Half the fun of cooking is sharing it with someone else, I believe. Wish you could've made it too.

Best to you,

Grammy

What a heart you have. I use to hear my Mother say: "No one will take care of you like I do." Thanks for sharing. I remember the Great Influenza. Author, John Barry I believe, 1,000000 people are said to have died. This was one of my School projects long ago. Thanks for sharing.

» left by Grammy Guru (846) (77 days 6 hours ago.)
Thanks so much for reading and commenting. What a fascinating school project that must have been! The book was a great read. Barry took at least 10 yrs. to research I think.

I enjoyed reading your article, but sorry you were so sick. What ever made you sick didn't seem to dull your senses. You're a very bright, well read, well informed lady. Glad you're feeling better. We can combine our dinners; ours is baked penne with red sauce, meatballs and spareribs and salad. Don't know where you live, I'm sure it's far from Hidey Hole Hollow.

» left by Grammy Guru (846) (76 days 5 hours ago.)
Hi, Shari,

(Growing up Shari was the name I wished I'd been given. I adored Shari Lewis.) Thanks so much for reading and commenting. Your dinner sounds fabulous. I'd love to make great meatballs and spareribs, but mine are just so-so.

I have to investigate Hidey Hole Hollow.  Don't think I've ever heard that one!  I'm a Midwesterner, originally from southeast IA, near the MO border. I've lived in IL for the last 40 yrs., except for about 9 yrs., when I had the joy of residing in FL until my husband died.  I relocated to Chicago three years ago to be near my children. It's cultural shock for this former small town girl, but I'm learning to bloom, or at least bud, where I've been transplanted.

Take care,

Grammy

My dad actually named me. I'm the youngest (it's pitiful to say that since I'm 62), of 17 children and he got to name the last one.

You and I are on the opposite ends of the spectrum. I'm trying to adjust to rural life after living in urban/suburban areas all my life. We've been here 3 years and I haven't begun to bud yet, so you're doing really well. I enjoy your writing and will read more.
