Motorcycles have always been an expression of freedom for many of us. Motorcycles offer the mobility of a transport vehicle without being confined in the closed spaces of four wheel vehicles. Motorcycles have been growing in popularity with numerous clubs and organizations around it. They too are an economic way of moving around without killer gas pump prices. Traffic also presents no problems as motorcycles easily weave around them. Motorcycles are the new breed of horses, take them in a track or ride them in old country roads. They are versatile and owners find new uses for them everyday.

Technology has certainly brought us improvements in every aspect of our lives. But with every improvement it brings it has negative aspects that comes with it. We see traffic cameras all over the city. This the government claim aims to protect us and stop crimes from happening. There was also the advent of radar which tracks motorcycle speeds. Radars are useful when put into good use. Radars are used in ships and planes as navigational tools and in spaceships also. But with the advent of improvements of radar, the police have used this tool as a way of constraining speeds and abuse motorists sometimes. How often have you been pulled to the side by a traffic policeman and given a ticket. Your speedometer was registering speeds well within traffic speeds but was still given a ticket. There are also radar devices left in the streets and highways which capture your speeds and guess what a traffic citation comes to your doorsteps in a few days. Traffic tickets don't come cheap and together with your daily grocery expenses can just leave you fuming.

Motorcycle Radar Detectors

Radar detectors have long been used in motor vehicles to defeat police radar systems. The newer radar detectors have proven to be good countermeasures against newer police systems. Motorcycle radar detectors are often small and light and can be detached from your vehicles. Newer police systems require constant upgrades to defeat them. Ground based radars and cameras have become popular nowadays. If you're just tired of receiving those traffic tickets which you don't have any idea on how you got them it's time to buy a motorcycle radar detector. Motorcycle detectors are specifically designed for motorcycles and their riders. They are lightweight and compact and can easily be detached from your vehicles. Motorcycle radar detectors are relatively cheap compared to the ticket citations you might receive.

Motorcycles were built to be driven and an expression of freedom on the road. Big brother although with his best intentions has decided to curtail that freedom for safety. There are a lot of responsible motorcycle drivers and owners who just want to get away for the weekend and leave their troubles away. Motorcycle radar detectors give you that option to live that weekend drive.

It is difficult to know how much "government" should be in an individual's freedoms - having been a cycle rides/driver/owner(past tense - after getting run off the pavement and up onto the sidewalk - over a curb - twice in 6 weeks of co-owning a 500 CC cycle....AND having worked emergency room and seeing what I could have looked like - my ownership was short lived and the van we purchased provided many hours of camping and driving fun)

I hear what you are saying, I also know that most basalar skull fractures could be prevented by wearing a helmut AND know how fun it is to feel the wind whizzing through your hair... Life is full of choices, isn't it? Enjoyed your article. Marijo
