Daycare costs continue to remain expensive within in the United States . However, the more kids that are enrolled the bigger the discount. In the daycare world, more is better it seems. However, if you have one child there is no discount. The most important thing about choosing a daycare is the child's well being. Many at-home daycares are breaking rules that frustrate many parents.

The organizational structure and costs of a professional versus a home daycare seem to be the new road block for many parents. If you cannot afford the legitimate (licensed professional) daycare, then sending your child to an at-home sitter (mainly not licensed) is a better choice. This benefits the parents pocket and is good for children attending before and after care. A sitter has lower rates, but pays less attention to detail for your child, depending on where you go. I once knew a sitter who had lower rates but the satisfactory level of attention was not so great. The kids would be bunched up in one room for a certain number of hours with snack foods versus healthy nutritional meals; diapers were not changed in a timely manner causing severe diaper rash; the playroom was not tidy and clean; and there was no schedule involved for learning.

At many professional daycares the prices are substantial. The reason is because the children receive better care. Most professional daycares have a schedule for the children and many with open door policies to visit anytime. Security is a lot better as well, because some will have locked doors; a teacher in every room for surveillance; and a check-in/check-out process. These daycares will provide a better learning environment for the child. Wait! Does that mean I have to take my child there? No, not necessarily because if it is pricey, then it will deter enrollment. I applaud any parent who does their best taking care of their children. No matter what the situation maybe, there is hope. Some sitters perform just as well as professional daycares. You just got to do your homework first or get some really good referrals.

Thanks. I have seen many things that should be in the open to keep everyone abreast of hidden agendas with some home daycares.
