Vaginal pimples - I have found a small lump that looks like a boil on my vagina and I am worried that I have vaginal pimples so what shall I do. Well you can stop worrying for starters. Just like the pimples included with facial acne on your face they are treatable and curablethat's assuming it is vaginal pimples you have. Most vaginal concerns can be confusing for women and young girls so it's important you know about these puzzling matters. It is vital you see your GP to get a direct diagnosis of your condition so it can be treated appropriately to rid the problem.
Of course there are things you can do to cure the problem yourself, but only if you are 100% sure of the exact condition. You must never attempt to use unfamiliar products, or follow the advice of friends just because they in the past have been successful treating their own vaginal pimples. Women differ and you need to remember this when listening to others.
Although vaginal pimples may not be quite as common as some vaginal infections like thrush or bacterial vaginosis, they are a regular problem. Acne is acne whether it graces your face or vagina; however both types of acne are not always going to be completely the same. There will always be those slight noticeable differences between facial and vaginal acne duly because of where it's sited. Blackheads and whiteheads can happen in this spot. Vaginal pimples is something that is highly associated with young girls than of the more mature woman.
Causes of Vaginal Pimples may include:
Problem bacteria
Hyperactive sebaceous glands
Hormonal mood swings
Wearing tight underwear
Laundry detergents/conditioners and certain feminine products
If it's been determined by your GP you have genital acne (pimples) don't panic because stress can only add further to your problem.
Bacterium is the primary cause of most vaginal infections so you need to be looking towards preventing this from growing to keep yourself, or should I say vagina protected from all sorts of nasties. Bacterium will flourish in a warm moist haven, and the vagina is exactly that. Vaginal pimples are a representation of bad bacteria which needs to be destroyed so the vagina can be restored back to health. It's not always best to use unknown topical acne treatments because vaginal skin is sensitive, and they can cause you more misery. Never attempt to squeeze a pimple, zit, spot or boil. Try bathing the infected area with mild medicated soap and see how you go on. If there's no improvement then pop along to the doctor who may issue you with a prescription for an oral medication such as tetracycline, erythromycin or tretinoin. Some women to regulate out of balance hormones may take birth control pills. Wash your underwear in a detergent containing no harsh ingredients, and if possible go without panties. Treating a mild case of vaginal pimples usually takes nothing more than keeping the area clean, allowing air to circulate round the genitals and using a specially formulated antiseptic cream/ointment to help soothe irritation.
Remember that a boil can present itself much like a pimple but they are typically bigger and painful and could need lancing.
About Boils
If you have a vaginal boil on the labia (vaginal lips) be careful with what method you choose to treat it. A boil usually appears as a raised reddened mound feeling firm and hard. The middle of the boil (abscess) is soft and filled with infection-fighting white blood cells. The area will feel tender and sore, or painful depending where the boil is. If you have a boil on your bum you will know about it. When the white blood cells, bacteria, and proteins combine they create pus which forms a head, The pus is the gooey matter that oozes out after it has burst or been squeezed. Genital boils can spread without treatment and, or turn into infection so antibiotics will be prescribed. Most likely places boils are common is under the arms on the face, neck, bottom and vagina. Poor nutrition, hygiene and ingrown hairs can be accountable for vaginal boils. Another cause for a boil on the labia is if there's a break in the skin (cut or scrape). How can you have a cut on the vagina you ask, well you can quite easily, and not know it. Shaving, plucking and scratching an itch can tear the skin giving an opening for bacteria which can result in boils.
If you suffer regular from boils then change the product you use to clean your skin like an antibacterial soap if you haven't already tried this.
To treat a boil you could try sitting in a bath of "hot" water at least twice daily. The boil may come to a head on its own, and fairly easy to pop and drain. If this happens then apply an antibiotic ointment and bandage. Keep the infected area clean and change the bandage when necessary. This may take a couple of shots depending on how much drainage there is. If the boil is large and causing severe discomfort then see your GP who may lance the boil.
1. Try using a mild astringent like Witch Hazel to help bring the boil to a head. Apply the solution to the boil for a couple of minutes, several times a day. Avoid this method if the boil is near torn skin or it feels sensitive.
2. Boils normally take four days up to a week to form a head. When the head is formed it will be filled with sticky white or yellow pus, ready for draining. You will be wasting your time trying to lance the boil if there's no head.
3. Before lancing a boil and assuming there is a head then prep the infected area. Only use sterile equipment including your hands. You will need alcohol, needle and bandage. Treat the skin with alcohol or hydrogen peroxide before you start. This is a painful process, but naturally expected to be because after all, it includes piercing the boil with a needle.
4. Insert the tip of the needle into the middle of the pus filled head of the boil. You only need to slightly prick the skin
5. Although pus normally oozes out of the opening after being punctured, it is slow coming so to help it along squeeze it gently. Immediately clean the boil of the pus and allow the skin to dry then swathe the area in gauze pad.

The worst thing you can do if you're concerned about genital warts is to look at pictures; warts have stages which will have them appear different on people, and this you may find alarming. There is no argument that a photo will give a clearer picture of something, however maybe not of the something you have. Just like a chameleon genital warts can take on several different appearances, but if at any time you notice unusual bumps or growths around your penis, vagina, vulva, cervix, groin or rectum it's highly likely you may be infected with the disease. You are not to panic on hearing this because lots of people diagnosed with genital warts are successfully being treated. Genital warts may appear as single bumps spread out across the genital area or, in later stages, large cauliflower florets. The look of the warts is normally red or pink and can either be visible to the eye or very difficult to see.
Vaginal pimples or genital warts are both conditions that are treatable and can be rid, and quite quickly too, however the longer you leave it to see your GP the condition will worsen having treatments to be upped in dosage or strength because it has double the work to do.
