In debt to her eyeballs and hating her job in a large hospital, college-educated Meloni Barkley desperately wanted to be her own boss, to get out of debt, and to live a better life. Her sister invited her to an Arbonne Skin Care presentation, and Meloni reluctantly agreed to attend.

Unexpectedly, the business opportunity turned out to be exactly what Meloni wanted. Today, Melonis husband is retired (still in his 30s), they are almost completely out of debt, and they are about to build their dream home. Melloni took charge of her life by selling through a home-based business.

Take Charge...Stay in Charge

Today no where else is the ground more fertile or the opportunities more available for making your dreams come true than through the art of direct selling within a home-based business. A home-based business places you, and no one but you, completely in the drivers seat of your life!

Recent estimates show that as many as 20% of all new small businesses are operated directly out of the home. And those businesses are a true testament to the entrepreneurial spirit, generating more than $100 BILLION dollars in annual revenue!

In 1984 Nedra Roney and her entrepreneurial-minded brother, Blake Roney, did some research and found a gap in the skin care industry that they thought they could fill. Doing more than a billion dollars in sales per year, Nu Skin has proven itself to the skin care industry, and proven the Roneys were right. They took charge and stayed in charge!

No other circumstance like a home-based business allows you to set your own work schedule, plan time for your social life, and experience ultimate flexibility for meeting family obligations while at the same time providing unlimited reward.

With a home based business there is:

  • No boss to report to you are the boss!
  • No rigid work hours you decide when you start and when you stop
  • No aggravating office politics you can work alone or with others
  • No financial ceiling you set the salary you want to attain

Begin Right Where You Are

Bette Graham was a typist who created a white paint to cover up mistakes on typed pages. She used it secretly for five years, but news spread. She sold the white paint from her house for more than a decade, and even offered it to IBM but was turned down. In 1979 she sold her Liquid Paper to Gillette Corporate for a cool $47.5 million dollars!

As you can see, regardless of your education level, social status, race, sex, age, or size, the only thing that is important is your burning desire to succeed and the perseverance to set your sails and refuse to give up until you see your goals realized. You can begin part time, full time, in your garage or spare room, with help or without, with minimum investment, and a minimum of obligations or risk.

There are literally thousands of home-based businesses already available and looking for you or you can create and promote your own never been done before concept. The Internet now offers all the tools and resources you need for accounting, communication, and marketing used by multi-national companies. In addition there are CDs, seminars success magazines, and local self-help home-based business groups. Resources abound for every need that presents.

And you can begin right where you are.

Count The Benefits

One of the reasons so many people are now operating home-based businesses is they have discovered the numerous benefits they provide.

#1 Personal Freedom: You choose what type of business that suits you best; you shape your day-to-day work hours; you decide how far up the success ladder you wish to go.

#2 Reduction of stress: When you're in control, it reduces your stress. As long as you are self-motivated and able to focus and get the required work done, it doesn't matter when you actually do it! If you're a night owl, work late and sleep late.

#3 Include your family: Couples or other family members can pool their talents and resources and work together to create a successful business. In addition, each member can relieve each other with child care demands or other obligations.

#4 Significant financial rewards: The only limitation to your total financial freedom is the limitation you impose on yourself. Home-based businesses open the door for the handicapped, students, homemakers and others who might not be able to land higher paying corporate jobs.

#5 Increase your competitive edge: When you work out of your home, your overhead is drastically reduced. The money you save on overhead can be funneled directly into growing your business. Lowering your costs allows you to be highly competitive with other peoples products and services. You can pass on those savings to your customersa winning combination for building your customer base.

#6 Greater productivity: When you are the direct beneficiary of your own efforts, your enthusiasm is higher and your productivity greater. Just eliminating the dictates of other peoples agendas frees up more time and energy to further your own goals.

#7 Tax advantages: Using your home as your main place of business offers you multiple opportunities for tax advantages. You can deduct things like a percentage of your mortgage or rent, a percentage of your vehicle expenses, a portion of moving expenses to another location, software for business purposes, and money spent on entertaining clients.

With a home-based business there are no corporate rules to helm you in or slow you down; no long commutes each day and evening; no water cooler gossip to impede or derail your climb to the top; no one to report to or please. How high you set your goals and how successful you become depends solely on your own motivation and desire. If all that sounds like a fresh start, a perfect fit, then a home-based business could be your ticket to fulfilling all your goals and dreams.

Isnt it time to get started? Isn't it time to climb into the drivers seat of your life!

Great article, those are all reasons I went into business for myself. It's been a rough start but I'm starting to make a sizable income and there's nothing like the feeling of earning autopilot income.
