One of the several products in Panasonic's series of entry level flat screen tvs, the Panasonic TX-P42X10 is a great product all round with a number of features that you regularly find in a much more expensive model. Unfortunately, though, some people are going to be put off by some are the compromises that it seems to make in terms of quality.
The factor which is going to put a lot of people of the TX-P42X10 screen however is the fact that it is only High Definition ready. Many people want to make absolutely sure that they buy something which is full High Definition but this in itself can be a mistake.
Plasma television technology should not be confused with LCD, which are short for liquid crystal display. Both technologies are completely different and each one has their advantages and disadvantages so what you decide to go for is ultimately up to your personal preferences. One of the main advantages of a plasma screens like the TX-P42X10 is that they have no restricted viewing angles like most most LCD screens. They tend to produce better and more vibrant colours as well although this largely depends on the particular model.
It is also important to realise the resolution is not the only thing which governs the quality of playback on TVs such as the TX-P42X10. As a result, picture quality is not necessarily better in either one, but they are considerably different. Which when you go for depends on your personal choice.
The Panasonic Viera TX-P42X10 comes with decent stereo speakers built in and a FreeView tuner. However, it is strongly advisable to buy a separate set of speakers such as a 5. 1 surround sound set since they don't cost a lot extra and half with the experience of watching the movie is having great sound as well.
The Panasonic Viera TX-P42X10 has all the features you need including various options to customise the colours and the picture but nothing too fancy. The TX-P42X10 also has a very adequate built in speaker system although it is highly recommended that you buy a surround sound system as is always the case regardless of how much you spend on television.
