A cruise vacation is a fantastic way to see the world and a great place to spend your vacations. Some cruises spend days or even weeks at sea. With only the on board activities to keep you entertained you may think that you would get bored. No need to worry, every cruise ship is specifically built to keep the guests happy, and that means keeping them entertained!

Listed below are the 6 most popular activities on board a cruise ship.

1. Eating. Believe it or not many people consider eating to be an activity on board. Of course it is an essential part of every day life but on board a cruise ship eating is a pleasurable experience rather than a necessity.

2. Take a class. On most cruise lines they hold classes on such things as yoga and cooking. Most classes will need to be booked in advance but they can be a great way to while away the hours whilst learning a new skill.

3. Exercise. Most people don't consider exercise to be relaxing but it is a great way to have fun and keep your energy levels up for your next shore excursion. Exercise doesn't automatically mean working out in the gym. Although most ships do have fully equipped gyms a more enjoyable way to exercise could be a brisk walk around the ship or a leisurely swim in the pool.

4. Hit the casinos. Every ship has a casino and they can be great fun and is usually something that the average person doesn't experience every day. Don't be scared of not knowing the rules or being intimidated by pro poker players. The casinos on board are usually full of tourists just like you and it is just relaxed fun rather than people gambling their homes away.

5. See a show. Most cruise ships have a theater on board. It is worth a visit even just to look at the architecture. It is unbelievable how big these areas are. You may imagine a holiday camp style show but the shows are usually of a high standard with professional actors.

6. Relax. Relaxation is the name of the game on any vacation but it is particularly easy on a cruise ship. With no distractions or big cities to stress you out you can just lounge around and literally do nothing.

Don't be put off a cruise by long stretches at sea. There is still plenty to do and see on board the ship. In fact some people go on a cruise and never leave the ship!

Your cruise can be just as entertaining whilst out at port. If entertainment is what you need then you can't really get better than Royal Caribbean Alaskan cruise. Royal Caribbean is one of the best equipped cruise lines.
