It has been a rematch that is 25 years in the making. Two legends who are well-known as champion chess players will battle once again in a ceremonial tournament in Valencia, Spain.

The first time Garry Kasparov,46, and Anatoly Karpov,58, competed the game lasted five months in Moscow before being called off because there was no clear winner. In 1985, Kasprov won the world crown from Karpov and repeated the championship the next year.

The famous five month match in 1984 contained 48 games before no winner was declared.

Yes, people still get excited about chess! The best part of this match is that it will be shown online at the Valencia's regional government website, www.gva.es

This battle will contain 12 games under strict time limits.

For those who do not understand the game, it is more then moving pieces on a board. It is a game of logic, intense concentration, mental strength and defense.

Perhaps one of the most famous chess players known to this generation is Bobby Fisher, most likely because of the Hollywood portrayal of his life story. There are several chess geniuses even today.

In fact, Kasparov has been training in Norway for this match with a teenage prodigy by the name of Magnus Carlsen. Karpov has been using the technology advances and battling the computer alone with a group of grandmasters on the Spanish coast.

As a parent of a chess player, this is exciting to be able to show him who the best of the best is at the game of chess. We see football, baseball and other greats every day. This is an opportunity of a lifetime for those who enjoy the game.

The match will be shown on the website from Sept. 21-25. Be sure to check it out to learn more about the game as well as to be able to see two of the greatest chess minds battle.
