I want to explain a little something called, Thelema', in very short order. This is a topic very close to me and means a lot. The word Thelema translates equally into two distinct and separate words,'WILL & LOVE'. You'll see what I mean if I do a good enough job writing this article.

In actual truth, there is a Hebrew system of transliteration that is perfect, undisputed and unopposed as it is mathematical and literal simultaneously, the Qabalah. It allows observation of any subject whatsoever, with perfect objectivity and individual elasticity. It equates the terms through number meaning the same, 'Will', 'Love', = Thelema and vise versa.

I would first like to state something of a strong note. In an attempt to make it very clear that, this has naught to do with religion, as it has been Religio-synthesized before (if I may indulge in such a term). Point being is:

{ This is not about Religion, nor does it overlap toward it, no, not in any way. Of course, it can, and in some cases it does so, (the subject alone) as all things do and are connected. However, to elaborate in that direction would certainly dilute the nature of the material before any proper understanding or comprehension has made contact.

That understood, this may continue to be something of an essay involving philosophy of the mind and the nature of the person behind the brain in general. }

All right, the culprit responsible for the creation of this Philosophy/term/formula is, St. Augustine. Anyone hip to this man's activities will no doubt either be smiling a sinister grin, or raising a contemptuous brow. Outside of many of his more curious activities, he coined one of the most beautiful phrases I have ever encountered in all my life as a reading and writing addict. " Love, and do what thou wilt ."

This equation could be responsible for determining the sole reason one person may or may not be inclined toward a certain quality or skill-set. Also, (and this is a big' also), contains the simple formula for accomplishing individual human happiness and success in life on earth. I know, a fantastic claim to be sure. However, I can assure you; this is not my idea alone. It was taught to me by many others, more capable people than myself.

One thing is certain; the man was genius by most any standard. Other people of a genius rank & revolutionary status have picked up and noted this too. I am not saying that I am genius, far from it. What I am saying is that there is plenty of evidence to confirm and back up what I am stating. I would just like for anyone reading this that this formula is sound and based firmly on scientific methods. My word alone is just a reiterating the culmination of years of others who found this equally profound and certain of this as a method.

First, I must insist on a definition of a common word. The word Will ', as described in the law of Thelema, is not your every whim or wanton desire, but what you were, intended, for by your very nature. Not what you want but what is your will . An example or two will be a much more complete technique for explanation. Not to mention faster.

The best way to describe Thelema' that I know of is to equate the term will ' with our most innate, inherent, and natural talent. A skill, which we are just plain good at and drawn toward from the start. For instance, Mozart, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. What was he?

This is a good question for what I am attempting to define. The subject better for understanding will ', would be specialty or naturally born talent, skill, or ability. Of course, he was a musician. Now, could you see Mozart doing anything else other than making music? Not me, and it is plain to see (from my eyes) that it was his will to write music.

That's' it then, MUSIC was his "WILL". No question about it. A will ' can be something simple. The one single requirement is it must be something productive that you love and passionately enjoy doing. It must also be a practical benefit to those around you.

It is also important to note that you have no choice in the matter. Some people are born Actors while others carpenters. You can do other things in your life that interest you. However, to induce this as a career choice will cause you a great deal of friction. It is the equivalent of "going against the grain" of the universe's energy.

Another one I like to mention is Einstein. Could you really see him as anything other than an engineer or teacher? It has always been my contention that his will was learning. As it took out the form of solving problems but his imagination created entire schools of thought.Perhaps, Picasso would have been a better example, but hopefully the idea comes across.

These are what Thelema calls true ' will '. What a woman or man was intended for. More over, and possibly equally as important, what SH/e loves to do and does well. There are two different kinds of love, there is *relationship* love. This one we are all familiar with(Some of us painfully so), and the love of your work, who you are inside, and equally what you do.

This, is what St. Augustine intended for when he created the term. I remember being is school and looking up above the chalkboard there was a picture of a little kid with his head in his arms and a caption above and below saying.

"I know I'm not junk, because GOD doesn't create anything junk! "

That never ceases to make me smile. Even today, when I still see it, I always think back to that time in my life where it meant so much to me.

In short, we are all meant for something in nature something we love and make us feel better about ourselves and our position in life. It will often be something that consumes us once we become involved in the activity. It can have the capability to make us feel and somehow seem more alive.

Again, to reiterate everything. The term WILL', again, does not mean whatever it is you want. Not in the conventional way, not at all, in fact something completely different. It means more what you were meant to do in nature. Much in the same way as Mozart was to music, William Shakespeare to writing, Joseph the carpenter, and on down the line. A will, is something intrinsic to someone's being and to whom they are. Nothing short of a miracle could stop the painting of the Sistine Chapel.

One thing that is a constant is that a will is inherent in nature and a positive mark on society. A true will is something that contributes to those around you and has value to others as well as the one willing. One who has full knowledge and understanding of this is literally got the world by the horns. Has a huge head start and is on their way to a full and happy life.

I hope this wasn't too boring or painful? For those that are still here, thank you very much for reading this and remember, maybe with a little more clarity, the old phrase.

"Where there's a will there's a way." Sometimes the will IS the way. At least as far as St. Augustine is concerned.

Humbly yours,

J-me ;o)
