Is smelly yellow discharge normal? - Vaginal discharge is something that women shouldn't worry about and yet, although a "natural" function of the human body, they do? In fact so serious is their concern about the issue some women believe themselves to be some sort of freak. Stop right there and stop thinking like this because it's perfectly normal for the vagina to produce fluid. Think of vaginal discharge as a good sign. I'd say you have more reason to worry if there was no sign of a discharge, and then having said that, still no real worry.

Normal vaginal discharge is not yellow, it is a clear or whitish type liquid released from the vagina. The uterus or cervix can also produce vaginal fluid. If your discharge turns yellow, green or brown from the original clear whitish color you're accustomed, then there will be a reason for this.

If you're experiencing change and a smelly yellow discharge is present, and you'd like to know why then don't go off another woman's word on the matter. No two women are really the same and this applies to the amount of discharge they lose also. Some women will either see little sign of it, while others see much more, even heavy at times.

The only time a usual vaginal secretion is classed abnormal is when infection has happened. Remember, "Normal" discharge can change many times in many ways and still remain normal.

Another thing women do, but shouldn't to get rid of vaginal discharge is to douche. Douching can upset the natural balance of organisms in your body. Douching can also lead to infection. What you have is not an unclean or unhealthy problem. It is a way for your body to remove fluid and old cells. If you're a woman that's always seen a clear whitish discharge and it suddenly changes while bringing other symptoms then we could be looking to treat infection. Other evident factors aside from color change that infection is the cause, is if the discharge becomes heavier, is smelly with a bad odor. Also irritation and itchiness in and around the opening of the vagina are typical symptoms that might signify a problem.

Signs and symptoms of a vaginal infection

  • Itching
  • Swelling
  • Smelly discharge
  • Green, yellow discharge, or grey in appearance
  • Looks foamy or clotted,
A yellowish cheesy looking vaginal discharge with a fishy odor along with itching are recognized warnings linking them to yeast infections. This is most likely the commonest cause for an off color fluid and likely caused by hormonal imbalance, poor hygiene; poor diet or wearing tight clothes that tends to suffocate the genitals. Because of location where the vagina and anus is sited makes it an area likely to moisten through sweating quickly, which in return produces bad odor if not washed regular. The area around you're bits needs room to breathe, but if tightened cloth restricts air getting in, it can cause health issues.

Not in every case, but a smelly yellow vaginal discharge could represent something more than just a simple yeast infectionlike if there's a burning sensation included. Sexually transmitted bacterial infections or venereal diseases are what we refer to here. If the change in your discharge is not caused by one of the serious disorders mentionedthat will likely need medical attention, then depending on the infection you may successfully treat it at home

Vaginal discharge when exposed to air can turn yellow, or if it the discharge turns brown, this could be because there is still blood leaving the vagina after a period. Make sure the reason you're discharge has changed color before medication or treatment is used, is that you're problem is reasoned by nothing other than fresh air.

Yellow Vaginal Discharge Treatments

Make your own vaginal wash with water, apple cider vinegar, and some garlic. Lightly dab the solution in an around the genitals. Your skin might already be sensitive because of your condition so this sort of application could sting. If the discomfort is too much to handle then rinse the solution off till the skin becomes less sensitive. Do this until the discharge returns back to its normal color.

Wear slack clothing around the crotch and make sure any material that comes in contact with your privates is made of cotton fabric.

Drink buttermilk and eat yogurt daily to help cure the yeast infection. Ridding the infection will hopefully remove the yellow discharge that derived from the yeast infection.

Keep up a good hygiene pact to help prevent a smelly yellow vaginal discharge affecting you

Exercise is an effective way to deal with yellow vaginal discharge as well as with sexual related problems in both sexes. It's also essential for overall health in general.

Drink alcohol within moderation and quit smoking and don't do drugs because these can cause surplus vaginal discharge and also affect menstruation.

Drink plenty of water. Water helps clean up infections through urinating. Getting rid of bad toxins contained in the body will keep your vagina healthy and protect you against vaginal problems which might cause you to experience yellow vaginal discharge.

Eat nutritious foods in your diet to keep you and you're vagina healthy. From consuming good foods which are full of nutrients you gain energy and the benefit of nutrients is they fill the gaps of any deficiency in your body. They also help maintain good blood circulation.

If possible, and no matter how tempting and tasty looking a particular food is, if it's highly rich in yeast like mushroom, breads and red meat don't be tempted to over indulge. Too much yeast could contribute to vaginal yeast infection.

Avoid vaginal lubrication products as they are known to cause irritation. Use unscented toilet tissue.

Certain bathroom products like perfumed soaps, fragranced deodorants, bubble baths and dyes can cause itching and vaginal burning.

Use a mild laundry detergent and fabric softener that your skin accepts. If you suffer irritation and vaginal rash then you may be allergic to some of the ingredients contained in the product you're using, so discontinue using.

Yellow vaginal discharge is also supposedly known to be a result of lack of sleep and stress, so try and get plenty of shut eye and avoid stressful situations.

If infection is the cause then your GP may prescribe antibiotics

Add a little medicated decoction which includes (Ashoka, Lodra, Amalaki, Patola, Neem, and Shigru) to your bath water to help treat the problem. Make the mixture yourself using the leaves of the herbs by boiling them in water then remove the leaves and pour the juice into the bath.

Some treatments for this color discharge are fast working while others may take time, so be patient.

Diseases and conditions linked with yellow vaginal discharge include:

  • Cervical polyp

  • Pelvic inflammatory disease

  • STD

  • Cervicitis

  • Gonorrhea (sexually transmitted disease)

  • Trichomoniasis

  • Chlamydia

  • Vaginitis

  • Cancer

If you've tried several solutions and the condition is not improving then it's in your best interest to see your GP. More times than not the reason why disorders of this nature don't go away is, because the actual condition you suffer from might be misconstrued for something other than the true cause. If you tend on treating your own vaginal yeast infection then that's good news, as long as you find the right way and get expert advice on how to do so. It doesn't have to be a doctor if you're embarrassed over your bits being interfered with. Below you may the help you need.
