I did this cartoon when I heard about the news where Charlie Rangel allegedly resubmitted some tax returns and somewhere up to $500,000 was found in a savings account or something along those lines. Charlie Rangel who is in charge of the committee that is responsible for writing tax code is no stranger to this type of attention as of late. It is just one story of many hypocrisy stories that has popped up in the town that seems to be building as one that is full of corruption, scams and just general misdeeds by people we sent there to represent us. Couple of things come to mind with regard to Rep. Charlie Rangel, One, Maybe the tax law that he has been busy writing is just too complex and should be scraped for something everyone can understand or two, Charlie Rangel is simply one of a growing number of unethical people running around the hill and should pay the price that anyone of us regular folk would have to pay in a similar situation. Whatever the case this elitism needs to be put to a halt and NOW. Hope you enjoy the cartoon and have a great day.
