Raised in a family that represented prayer as a "conversation with Christ", I've never found it hard to communicate within my relationship with Christ. I've always heard that communication is the key to any relationship, and your relationship with Christ should follow the same rules.

When I talk to Christ, I feel as if I am having a conversation with my best and only friend; a friend who knows me more than I know myself. Any friend that knows you more than yourself, will more than likely know when you are jiving yourself, or them. So, keep it real and simple; beating around the bush and only committing to what you want to commit to, or what feels comfortable will not work in this conversation. Keeping an open mind and heart allows the answers to manifest. A 'true' friend will not give you the good, but the good and the bad. Be prepared.
As I release my weaknesses, shortcomings and downfalls in my conversation with Christ, I feel relieved from the release. Knowing that I can talk with Christ, as my Creator gives me a sense of security. Secure in knowing that all my weaknesses will be held between us, until I am better and stronger. Asking for that strength should not be hard. Considering, you are asking for something from a friend, right? Right.

Lastly, when you are having a conversation with a friend, your guard is down. You have no fear of having to pretend to protect your innocence. Which, in turn shows your friend that they can be the same with you; a friend needs your honesty and support, as well as your appreciation. So does Christ. Exalt the name by lifting up appreciations for good times and bad times; if it weren't for the bad times, how would we appreciate good times? Just something to run through your mental.

Conversation with Christ is the way to go Ronyae and you are so correct. Communication, you are so correct. I am sorry I cannot comment on it more because, you said it all. "COMMUNICATION."
Ronyae, just got back from a 3 day retreat with the ladies from my church. Women were open and transparent and CHANGED by Jesus as we met Him there - reading this piece from you the day after is like the cherry on top of a wonderful weekend. Thanks for sharing your heart and insights! it is beautiful! Marijo
I'm smiling throughout my entire being, Marijo! I feel as if I enjoyed the experience through the spirit you have flowed into this comment, thanx for welcoming me :)
Ohhh, I wish you could have been at the retreat with us! We even saw a moose in the backyard - the paper photographed him because moose do not come to this part of Colorado! It was a blessing too in a totally different way this weekend. Marijo
Oh, now there's an idea! Seems like He had been showing us individually many of the same examples before we got there and things kept interrelating and meshing - then we broke into little groups to pray over needs and oh, my. This group of gals (13-going on 70) are SAFE. We can share our hearts and souls with each other and KNOW it will go no further - and the prayer support. and the bringing of things into the light which totally defuses the enemy's power (pretended power) WOW! Marijo
You are so right on. So many people think of prayer as a one way communication, but if you pray and talk to God, he will answer your prayers, especially if you let him talk to you through scriptures. Thanks for the article!
Thank you Sister, thank you. I have always felt that prayer is a conversation with my Heavenly Father (Abba, Daddy and to converse there must be a listening that accompanies the talking. Thanks for the blessed reminder Ronyae.
Ronyae, I just started practicing communicating with God as my best and only friend. I grew up with formal prayers. There is nothing wrong with formal prayer, but frienship-type conversation opens another avenue to God. Thank you for your insight.
