If you are taking a vacation and going somewhere relaxing and tropical, then Hawaii might be your choice of destination. Hawaii vacations are great fun and you and your entire family will have a great time there. You could be going to Hawaii for a spring break vacation, for a wedding, for a business function, or just to relax with your loved one. Here are some ideas of what you can pack for your trip.
Clothes: Hawaii can be warm, but it can also be cool and rainy, so don't just pack shorts, t-shirts and flip-flops. You should also include something warm, and also pants and socks. Swimming gear is essential along with a beach towel, and sunscreen is a must. There are few formal events so leave the suit, but you might be glad of some form of warm jacket and even a cool shirt to cover your shoulders and arms.
Activities: You will likely be out and about mostly during your vacation because Hawaii has a lot for you to see. However, at times the weather can be inclement, and a few games and books will likely be useful at some time. The children can easily get bored on long drives or when stuck indoors, so a traveling
computer game or two might come in handy. It's also good to cool down after a morning swim and a good book is always useful when lying and relaxing with a mai tai or blue Hawaii.
Camera: For getting those excellent family snapshots and Hawaii attractions do not forget your camera. You can also take your video camera. Just be sure to take along some extra batteries, and also some additional memory cards. You'll be surprised at how fast they are used up.
Travelers Checks: Travelers checks are safer than cash. If they get lost you can have them refunded, but not cash! They are useful for incidental expenditure, and if you take exactly what you budgeted to spend then you won't spend too much. Make sure you leave plenty time to order and receive them.
Fishing Gear: Hawaii is surrounded by stunning water with plenty of fishing opportunities. You can also enjoy scuba diving and snorkeling here, so pack your fishing gear and scuba equipment if you can. At many of the Hawaii fishing and diving locations you can also hire equipment so keep a look out for these places.
That is by no means a full list of what people take on their Hawaiian vacations of course, and you will obviously have more, such as the insect repellant and antihistamine, so make a list so that you won't leave anything out when packing. Don't forget to pack the tickets and your passport if you need one or at least some form of ID. And, then bon voyage and Aloha!
