Vaginal infections - Hey girls it can happen to us all, what can happen to us all? Being affected by a vaginal infection that's what. Its best you know about these things than having to find out the hard way. Women are different, and most that do right by their vagina are likely to avoid vaginal conditions and have a healthy vagina. But then and sadly we have those women who follow suit but still suffer. It's not fair I know but that's how it is. It's hard to understand that although you do the same as the next woman, you're vaginal health is not 100%. This is what we mean by saying no two women are the same.
One reason why this may be is that you either do, or don't do things quite exactly the same. Things like how you wash your vagina like cleansing it too much or to less, douching, or using feminine products that contain harsher ingredients. Another primary cause could be down to your overall health. Some women are more vulnerable to certain symptoms of vaginal infections than others.
If you're at an age near to the time when vaginal odor, thrush, bacterial vaginosis, vaginitis, or other "could" affect you, then you need to know what can be done to protect the health of your vagina. Knowing how to prevent or treat the symptoms of vaginal infections, and endorse the proper care, you might get to evade the more serious complications that come about from lack of awareness.
Embarrassment is a major issue why women don't seek medical help when they have problems linked with the vagina. Okay so your GP will have to take a look at your bits, and may even have to prod and poke certain areas of your private parts to determine what the problem is, but that's nothing compared to the amount of consultants that might have to look and feel, not only the outside but the inside of the vagina if the infection is ignored. If you suffer symptoms of a vaginal infection then get help sooner than later. Some vaginal yeast infections are successfully treated and cured at home more about this later. If you allow an infection to reach a certain stage and depending on which infection in question it is, they can turn real nasty.
About Vaginal Disorders & Symptoms of Vaginal Infections
Thrush is caused by yeast called Candida which is not something that appears out of the blue because it's naturally already living on the body. Candidiasis is a fungal infection chiefly caused by a fungus known as Candida albicans. There are also strains of this fungus like Candida tropicalis, Candida glabrata and Candida krusei. This candidal infection is usually referred to as thrush and can happen on any mucosal surface in the human body such as oral cavities like, the vagina and the intestine. Nevertheless, candidiasis won't happen in a systemic mode, unless the patient is an immunocompromised state. Vaginal discharge caused by thrush is normally white and thick, but not always, however it nearly always looks like yoghurt and smells strongly of yeast. Some women produce a watery or mild-smelling discharge. The amount of discharge caused by thrush can also vary from a little to a lot. Other symptoms of thrush due to the overgrowth of yeast are itching and soreness around the vagina.
If you experience symptoms of
Itching
Burning
Soreness
Swelling of the vagina and vulva
Yeasty-smelling discharge
If you have any of the above mentioned then there's every possibility you have thrush. If this is the case and you have no intention of visiting your GP which I recommend you do to be on the safe side, here are some alternative treatments for thrush.
Talk to the pharmacist about anti-thrush remedies such as Canestan or Diflucan which come in pessaries
A natural alternative is natural live yoghurt applied inside the vagina which rearranges the acidity inside the vagina, making the environment much less favorable for the bad organisms which cause thrush. Consider taking Yakult, or a supplement such as Multibionta, which re-colonize the bowel with great numbers of good bacteria which prevent the build-up of yeast-like infections in the bowel which are then sent to the vaginal region.
What is cystitis?
Cystitis is an infection of the bladder. It causes a burning feeling when weeing and sets off the urge in a patient to want to pee often. Usual cause of cystitis is infection from intestinal bacteria especially among women, who have a very short urethra (the tube through which the urine flows from the bladder out.) As a rule urine is sterile (without micro-organisms such as bacteria.) There can be many reasons for the bacteria settling in the bladder. Inadequate emptying, resulting in stagnation of urine which is a major cause for infection.
Vaginitis means inflammation of the vagina, and inflammation can mean any one of the following (tenderness, swelling, redness, soreness or irritation.)The most likely cause of vaginitis is infection as well as allergies. Scented soap and fragranced perfume, or even the rubber used to make certain condoms can be to blame.
Symptoms of the vaginal infection "vaginitis"
Vaginal discharge changing in smell and color
Vaginal itching and burning
Discomfort when weeing, or during sexual intercourse.
Thrush is another common cause of vaginitis
Trichomonas is the result of a tiny organism called a flagellate. It's usual to see because of this infection a copious amount of greenish-yellow discharge, and suffer itching, burning sensation, or pain in the vagina.
Bacterial vaginosis is a regular vaginal disorder which women can't ignore even if they wanted too, as this is the main infection for the cause of the fishy smelling discharge. Bacterial vaginosis is reasoned by the growth of bacteria that causes the acidity of the vagina to become more alkaline, and aside from the fishy odor the discharge is normally a greyish color and foamy.
Chlamydia is an STI (sexually transmitted disease) caused by a tiny bacterium, Chlamydia trachomatis. Unfortunately this condition often gives no show of symptoms in both genders early enough to prevent complications that can cause permanent damage. It affects young women more than men
Usual symptoms that imply Chlamydia infection may include
Cystitis
Vaginal discharge change
Lower abdominal pain.
Although the above are possibly connected to Chlamydia they could also be causes of other infections and diseases. In men, discharge from the penis is a usual sign of chlamydia. Men may experience mild irritation at the tip of the penis (urethra.)
Dangers of chlamydia
In can cause pelvic inflammatory disease (pelvic infection.) The fallopian tubes that carry eggs from the ovaries to the womb can become damaged and prevent them working correctly, or block the tubes all together (causing infertility.)
If Chlamydia causes the fallopian tubes to seize up pregnancy is not possible naturally.
It's not unknown for women with damaged tubes to fall pregnant, but it can end up a risky pregnancy where there's a strong chance of the pregnancy developing in the tubes rather than the womb (ectopic pregnancy.) It's a dangerous matter (life threatening) if the tube splits.
Chlamydia infection is most likely the cause of inflammation in the testicles and sperm-conducting tubes in males under the age of 35. Pain, swelling, soreness and redness on the affected side of the scrotum, or on both sides is expected..
Chlamydia can also be responsible for joint inflammation in some men.
As like mentioned in the first sentence of this article "Hey girls it CAN happen to us all," I would like to rephrase this to "Hey girls DON'T let it happen to you. If it already has, and you have a vaginal yeast infection which brings an embarrassing smelly vaginal discharge then try what other women are using to treat their own vaginal infections naturally, and without having to see a doctor, but with medical guidance. Nonetheless unfamiliar products or unknown solutions should be checked out by your GP first before use.
eeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwww!!!!!!thank GOD that I have outside plumbing, not inside!Your article could well be the BEST birth control device ever discovered,if all men were forced to read it,before a date!
Hi Paul looks like you weren't forced to read the article, and I also bet a bottom dollar in the heat of the moment on that date you mention all what you have read goes out of the window. What's that you say Thank God. Shouldn't it be Thank Heaven For Little girls that grow up with or without infection.
Thanks for commenting and I compel you to come back and read any follow ups (lol)

true,so true, but cold showers dont assuage the absolute need to get near something SOFT,every so often. But your essays have been an icy shower facsimile!Thank you for your sense of humor;I didnt believe it until I got on this site, but there ARE people without a smidgen of a sense of humor,it seems:paul
Hey Paul as long as you and me have a sense of humour then that's all that matters, and the added plus is because we smile more than frown it helps lessens wrinkles happening. Just going to check some mugshots and start counting wrinkles which may give me a sign of the miserable gits you think haven't a smidgen of humor
