A skin mole is a spot on the skin that is usually round or oval in shape. The skin mole can be small or large, and it may range in color from pink, brown, red, or black. The single skin mole is referred to in medical terms as a nevus. When one is discussing moles in the plural form, they are called nevi. Virtually everyone has at least a few moles. Statistically one will find between 10-50 moles on the body. The skin mole can occur on any part of the body.

Warts: Genital warts:

are mainly transmitted via sexual contact. Highly contagious in nature, genital warts are caused by the human papilloma virus (HPV). Genital warts spread through direct skin-to-skin contact either during oral, anal, or genital sex with a person who is already infected with HPV.

Genital warts are usually flat with a stem like extension or can be shaped like cauliflowers (in clusters) and are typically visible on the genitals such as vagina (inside and outside), penis tip, or shaft or around the rectum area in both sexes. In men, the symptoms of genital warts are less pronounced. In some rare cases, genital warts can also develop inside the mouth or throat of a person who may have had oral sex with an infected partner. This infection tends to be more common in people who are in their 20s.

Types of Wart:

There are different types of wart. The type of wart infection usually depends on the shape and the area affected. But besides this, the type of wart infection depends much on the type of human papilloma virus involved. The different types of wart are:

Common wart (Verruca vulgaris): Found most commonly on hands and knees, this is a raised wart with roughened exterior.

Flat wart (Verruca plana): Found most commonly on areas such as face, neck, hands, wrists, and knees, this is a small, smooth, and flattened wart. Usually occurs in big numbers and is tan or flesh colored.

Filiform or digitate wart: Found most commonly on the region of the face, and more specifically around the eyelids and lips, this is a thread or finger-like wart.

Plantar wart (verruca, Verruca pedis): Found most commonly on the pressure points of the soles on the feet, this is a hard and rather painful wart. It appears with several black dots in the center.

Mosaic wart: Found most commonly on the hands and soles areas, this wart appears as a group of very closely bound plantar.

Donkey wart (venereal wart, Condyloma acuminatum, Verruca acuminata): Found most commonly around the genital areas (vagina, penis, and rectum), this wart appears in clusters or individually as well.

What Causes Wart?

Wart can Wart can be really bothersome. Some wart infections can bleed and cause much pain when they are broken or bumped. Caused by HPV family, a wart can be caused by any of the more than 100 types of human papilloma viruses! They can infect any part of your body include genitals, inside of the mouth and hands and soles of your feet.

Warts can be embarrassing, but effective treatments are available that decrease the spread of wart infection.
