The capital city of Hungary has a number of amazing attractions for visitors to enjoy. As such, deciding which sights and attractions you should visit can be a difficult choice. If time is short and you are looking for the best Budapest attractions to include in your visit, these five must-sees should be incorporated into your itinerary.

#1 Must-See Budapest Attraction: Budapest Zoo

When it comes to selecting which Budapest attractions you should include on your list of places to visit, the Budapest Zoo should be at the top of your list. Not only is the zoo home to some beautiful and amazing creatures, the zoo is also committed to conservation. As a result, visitors can also get up and close to a number of endangered species while also participating in special programs and demonstrations. The Budapest Zoo is open year-round. Visit www.ZooBudapest.com for more information.

#2 Must-See Budapest Attraction: Museum of Fine Arts

The Museum of Fine Arts is another one of the most popular Budapest attractions for those who are interested in enjoying a grand cultural experience. Found in City Park next to the Heroes' Square monument, the Museum of Fine Arts features a variety of works, including Egyptian Art, Classical Antiquities, 19th and 20th century Modern Art and more. With more than 3,000 paintings found in the Old Masters Collection, there is plenty to see at the Museum of Fine Arts. The Museum of Fine Arts is open year-round, though it is closed on Mondays. Visit www.szepmuveszeti.hu for more information.

#3 Must-See Budapest Attraction: House of Hungarian Wines

Located near to the Buda Castle, the House of Hungarian Wines allows visitors to enjoy unlimited sampling for a two hour period. With over 700 wines on display from 22 different regions throughout the country, there are plenty of wines waiting to be sampled. The House of Hungarian Wines is open daily. Visit www.magyarborokhaza.hu to learn more.

#4 Must-See Budapest Attraction: Budapest City Circus

The Budapest City Circus is filled with international attractions and impressive shows featuring lions, horses and more. The main programs are offered from January through to August, but additional shows are still performed from October through December. Visit www.maciva.hu for show times and additional information.

#5 Must-See Budapest Attraction: Historical Museum of Budapest

The Historical Museum of Budapest actually features three great Budapest attractions: The Castle Museum, the Kiscell Museum and the Aquincum Museum. In addition to the numerous temporary exhibits found in these museums, visitors can also enjoy seeing several permanent exhibits. Some of these include gothic sculptures from the Royal Palace of Buda, the Golden Lion Pharmacy exhibition, the Baroque sculpture hall and access to the open-air Statue park exhibit. The Historical Museum of Budapest is open year-round. Visit www.btm.hu to learn more.

Of course, as one of the best capital cities in Europe, Budapest has far more to offer than just these 5 great attractions. By taking a walking tour of the various regions within the city, you will be sure to see all that the city has to offer and get the most from your trip.
