We all have our complaints, we're not saints (or most of us.) Dwelling on all the problems we've accumulated definitely could put us in a bad mood. Stress levels heighten, and arguing, rudeness, and anger become a way of life. Fear is usually at the core. Fear of losing our job or our home, or our family. Or our spouse. When we get in that fear mode, we get nervous and our usual positive outlook on life seems to go right down the tube. This is when we feel life is doing something "to" us. And not just life-God.
It's hard to understand what our role on this Earth is, especially when so many bad things happen to us and others. We question, when in reality, does it really matter why? The car is still going to break down, the woman next door is still going to pass away, the shingles are going to be blown off the roof, and why? What difference does it make why? We still have to take care of whatever it is that needs our attention, no matter why it happened. Or are we one to question everything and spend our time depressed because we never get any answers?
What if life was created FOR us, not against us, and we lived our lives in that fashion? We would thank God for all the many things we see and love and care about. The tragedies of the world are better left to Him to figure out. He is the ultimate knowledge, and we have but a finite amount. If we had learned to appreciate all the wonderful creations of our World, we'd be much happier. Nature is the closest we can get to our Heavenly father, and we will feel that while watching a hummingbird flap it's wings so quickly, you can't see them.
Or hold a newborn in your arms,

or watch any creature in nature and marvel at this seemingly built in way of navigating to where they need to go.
Everything but humans seem to know what their job is on this Earth, and what they're supposed to do. Do we really believe arguing and fighting most of our lives is the prudent thing to do, since, we all know we're going to die-no secret. What's the point going to be? Or does there even have to be a point? Is Earth our Coney island and when time is up, we return home? Why wouldn't there be a Coney Island in Heaven?
Yes, I have questions, too, but I know that living my life constantly questioning everything and everyone, won't bring me enjoyment out of life. Let's keep the painful parts of life to the one side: death, accidents, health problems, money problems, relationship problems, job problems. I may have forgotten some. Without these problems, which take up so little of the percentage of our lives, usually, what do we have left? Beauty. Especially this time of year with all the leaves changing color. That in itself is a miracle to me. Do they wonder why they change color?
I watch the gracefulness of deer every night from my front porch swing. They look up, see us, and then they go right back to chomping those leaves. They sense we respect them and there's no reason to fear us. We mean them no harm. The flowers that have bloomed all summer are so majestic in their color and the way they reach towards their Heavenly father. There are tastes to enjoy, both solid and liquid. There are ice cream sundaes! And chocolate syrup and brownies and fruit and nuts.
Yes, there are problems we have to deal with and ponder over and rectify, but there are also chipmunks and horses and hayrides and festivals. My little maltipoo is the most loving dog I've ever had, and he brings me a great deal of joy. Whenever I say, "do you want to go for a ride?" I'm afraid his neck is going to twist off as he turns it towards the door so fast. He knows the difference between going out and walking down to the mailbox. He is a treasure, and I appreciate his sweetness.
Although I am still dealing with some problems, I am learning a lot about myself. Life is not a punishment, unless we make it one. Most of the times, when we try our hardest, good things happen. And when they don't, we have to gather all the strength we have, and then pray for some more, but if we are diligent and persevere, chances are, things will be all right.
