The value of the cholesterol food chart is very much appreciated to lead a healthy life. The people with heart problem should give it proper importance to remain safe from being struck with severe health disorders. The food chart is drawn in such a manner that the cholesterol present in the food does not make any harm to the particular person.

What is cholesterol and what does it do in our body? You need to know the simple facts about cholesterol, which is an essential component of our body system. The excessive presence of the LDL cholesterol or bad one can cause serious harm to our system. The HDL cholesterol or good cholesterol must have a minimum level of presence in our system for good health.

Cholesterol is a kind of fatty substance, produced by the liver and is present in all the cells of the body. It helps to produce vitamin D in the body and helps in the process of transmission of Vitamin A and E. There is presence of cholesterol in foods that we intake everyday in the form of fats.

Animal food products are known to contain high amount of cholesterol. The dairy varieties, eggs and a wide range of seafood are source of high amount of saturated fats. They are responsible for the increase in the LDL cholesterol levels in the system making it detrimental for individuals with cardiac problems and diabetes. Consumption of these food items should be drastically cut and replaced by a methodical diet chart for keeping good health. Intake of palm oil as a medium or coconut must be controlled.

Several food items have the properties of increasing the LDL level and reducing the HDL level in the body system. The situation is attributed to the medium of cooking with the oil having trans fats or hydrogenated fats. Common examples are the baked items, various snacks, processed food items and fried food.

The consumption of saturated fats or trans fats should be avoided and replaced by mono-unsaturated otherwise polyunsaturated fats. The oily fish a good source of polyunsaturated fat and is quite friendly to the cardiovascular system. Insist on a diet containing fiber with porridge, lentils, fresh fruits and vegetables and you will be able to maintain proper cholesterol level.

Increase in the cholesterol level can cause severe damage to your heart functions and especially to aged persons due to reduced metabolism rate. Hence, it is recommended that a correct cholesterol food chart should be taken up containing less amount of saturated fat content for enjoying a healthy life.
