Most men do not know when they have yeast infections. It is often the female mate who apprises him. Yeast infections can suppress the immune system and cause many autoimmune diseases. Doctors often prescribe medications for male candidiasis. And some naturopathists recommend certain cleansing techniques. Regardless, in treating male yeast infections, both have merit.

Male yeast infections can arise from food allergies or diets rich in glutens. A more prominent cause is an overuse of antibiotics or corticosteroids. Antibiotics are used for severe chest infections and as preventative measures after surgery. And asthmatics may become overexposed to yeast by using corticosteroid inhalers such as Advair. Whatever the case, these foreign substances upset the natural balance of good bacteria and fungus in the gut. Candida albicans is a diploid fungus that lives naturally in the intestines. But it can easily proliferate beyond normal levels when disturbed and create serious candidiasis. These yeast infections can be spread by contact and are extremely difficult to get rid of.

Doctors often treat internal male yeast infections with nystatin. It comes in both pill and powder form. The powder form must be refrigerated. When it is used it can be mixed with water or a favorite beverage. Nystatin can be taken for weeks until the yeast symptoms subside.

Another way to get rid of a male yeast infection is to do a colon cleanse or colonics. This is the most thorough way to rid the body of the fungus naturally. It can also be repeated periodically to prevent yeast infections from reappearing. There are many colon cleanses on the market. The best way to find a good one is through an independent health food store in your area. Most of them are independently owned and the owners are very knowledgeable on most health issues. Ask them to recommend a brand. Colon cleanses rid the body of toxins, yeast and even parasites. It also neutralizes the system meaning it reduces the acid levels where yeast really thrives. Treatments can last a couple weeks. During this time it is recommended that men limit their yeast and gluten intake. Colonics or colon therapy is more expensive but also highly effective. A licensed colon therapist will help you clean out your system by flushing the toxins and yeast from your system. Patients usually lie on a table and insert a speculum in their rectum. The speculum is attached to a tube where the water flows in and out of the large intestines.

Cold coconut oil in pill form can also be used to treat these infections. Men can also use a liquid form of virgin coconut oil as well. Both have proven to be highly effective in treating systemic yeast.

Nystatin, colon cleanses or colonics and coconut oil can each be used in treating male yeast infections. Doctors are starting to accept the more natural methods of treatment. Health experts often believe medications can worsen the problem. Choosing a proper method is an individual choice.
