The world is quickly moving away from the culture of disposable goods and, so far as the environment is concerned, good riddance to that culture. Refillable lighters represent one of the most-popular ways people have found to save money and landfill space. Of course, they also have a lot of style. The explosion of new designs has made sure that almost anyone can find a model that suits them to a "T".

Those who like an ultra-modern look may enjoy one of the many Lotus lighters on the market. Many of these are of the torch variety which offer a clean-burning, blue flame which will light under just about any conditions. The sound of the flame itself is an attractive element of these designs and the characteristic roaring sound is sure to turn heads. The case designs span from simple and elegant to downright futuristic.

There are several different grades of butane available. If one makes the investment required for a good lighter"it is surprisingly affordable, actually"they should make the corresponding investment in lighter fluids. Look for fuel that advertises zero-impurities. This means that the lighter will perform at peak levels and that the blue flame, or flames, will burn hot enough and bright enough for everyone to see.

Refillable butane lighters are available in some very beautiful designs. As the technology has advanced, it has become more durable which means that these lighters are designed to be around for a while. To that end, the designers have endeavored to make lighters which are very modern while, at the same time, unlikely to ever look dated.

A lighter should say something about the individual who carries it. Someone who spends a great deal of time at business meetings or elegant affairs may prefer a slim, classy butane that can light a cigar without a hint of fuel flavor. Someone who spends a lot of time on a motorcycle may prefer a classic chrome Zippo that lights under any conditions and that offers the head-turning "snap" when the lid is put back into place. Either way, there are plenty of models from which one may choose and the best ones will likely hold up for a lifetime.
