Even the greatest guitar players site time aside for practicing every day. These guitar exercises support the memorization of techniques and improve coordination between your hands. The best way is to set up a simple schedule for your online guitar lessons. 20-30 minutes a day can be effective. Another good idea is to play the guitar at the same time of the day. You have to be determined and conscientious.

Basic tasks:

1. Before starting the exercises, do not forget to tune your guitar. You should always check the tuning and adjust the strings when necessary.

2. Ear training is a basic technique you have to do. Many students consider it a waste of time. However, the lack of ear training slows down your improvement. No one is able to achieve higher levels of guitar without good listening skills. A great and enjoyable way to do this is to listen to your favourite songs and analyze it.

3. To get a good tone, you should apply enough pressure to each string. The lower strings (E, A, D) need more pressure than the higher strings (G, B, E).

Exercise 1 In this exercise you play the major scales on your guitar. Let's start with the C major. Play the C note and the remaining ones - D - E - F - G - A - B. After you played a major scale forward play the scale backwards.

Exercise 2 In this exercise you play all the notes on every string. Play E - F - G - A - B - C - D - E - F - G - and A if your guitar has 17 frets. Firstly, play the notes forward and then backward. Try to speed up playing.

Exercise 3 To improve the finger change technique. After learning either the major chords or the beginner guitar chords you can combine them into an exercise. Switch the chords continuously and speed up your technique. If you learn a new chord, build it into your exercises.

Exercise 4 In this exercise you have to find the notes. Play the scales and chords many times and you will learn the place of all the notes. You can find the E note 10 times, including the two open E strings if your guitar has 17 frets. An open string is one note. If you became familiar with one string, you can try the same process with Bb, C#, etc.

Exercise 5 It is a finger practice. Do the following: put your first finger on the first fret of the low E string, your second finger on the second fret, your third finger on the third fret, and your fourth finger on the forth fret of the same string. Repeat it with all the strings. Do the same process backwards, too. Let's change your first finger on the second fret. Continue it fret by fret.
