U2's concert on Oct. 25 will be broadcast worldwide thanks to YouTube. Fans in 16 countries will have the opportunity to watch the concert at the Pasadena Rose Bowl in California.
YouTube is known for creating a place where videos can be shared in places they never could before. The U2 concert is just showing off. How awesome for so many people to be able to take part in the concert from the comforts of their own home. Nothing like unity than music streamed live over the internet.
YouTube will also offer viewers the ability to chat to one another using Twitter, or to give money to Bono's RED charity via a "donate now" button, while they watch the show.
I am curious to see how it goes, since live streaming can present more technical problem then pre-recorded footage. It is, after all, owned by Google so I am sure they will have all the bugs worked out.
Check out YouTube Oct. 25 and get a glimpse of history being made while enjoying some U2!
